I would really just like to agree with all the other posters on here, it is a total rip off. I posted a profile on the site and within hours i had 40 or more messages from women all supposedly in towns from the surrounding area, obviously then you had to pay to read them. Not one of the messages was genuine. The thing is, once i had paid money and joined i did not get another message. Up until becoming a paid up member I was receiving two to three messages a day , So I paid my subscription and the only message I have had is from the site saying someone new had joined.. Once upon a time this was a genuine site with real people. And it worked. Now, the profiles i looked at back then are still there, always shown online. But some i still know are now happily married yet they appear in multiple profiles. One shows regularly online and sadly they passed away 2 years ago!!! I totally agree with everything you've said, the site is not as it seems, i too was a member before it was taken over and it was fine then. I think its gdff sending bogus messages out to members. I can always spot the genuine (very rare) because the wording is warmer and more than a few words. Also, if you check the messages you reply to, they are never opened.

i myself am now having problems on that site..i joined on 4/4/12 for a one mth member ship..on the 17th of apirl i cancelled my member ship..on the 4th of MAY.. they still charge me for another mth..An again June 9th.

I never even set up a profile and got an email in my regular mail saying someone wanted to meet me. I went to the site and had a dozen emails that were all basically the same, from women close to me and I didn't even have a profile. I've set up profiles on several sites but paid for none except Lava Life. I assume they got my email from one of those sites and just spammed me. This is an absolutely terrible and appalling site. The automatic billing changes were the first hurdle and trying to phone to cancel, I was kept on hold for over 20 minutes! My experience was similar. Many women wrote to me and I answered quite a few and none replied back. Also my emails to the administration were not answered. The whole website I think is just a trick to get guys' money. I don't think we are really communicating with any real women. It was a waste of money.

Guys, I understand your frustrations, having experienced similar in the past on other dating sites. I have to be honest though, and say that eHarmony is different, in my opinion anyway. I met my future wife through the site whilst serving in the Armed Forces. We're getting married next April. Have to fly the flag for eHarmony here I'm afraid.

As a real woman who has used GDFF, I have had real dates in the past from it and I have also had a nice phone conversation with someone yesterday. We have no idea what men pay to do this as women. Even on free websites, for both sexes, people do not always bother to reply, but they appear to be online. Firstly, if you imagined approaching an attractive woman your local paper shop, bus stop or anything else, there is no guarantee she would want to A) strike up a conversation, B) Find you have a rapport if she was polite enough C) Want to date you even if she did. It could be you were just not the man for her, or that she happened to be chatted up by someone somewhere else who appealed more, or lived nearer, or had more in common with her. Some men show little initiative in sending or answering messages, some are lewd, and some are worth making the effort for. Too many men who look scruffy, or fat, or miserable expect to hear from women who look after themselves and have a smiley photo.

I can only confirm all the negative comments that I have read on here. I was wondering the same thing. I don't know how they got my info and made me a member and then started sending me alerts telling me that sexy babes had emailed me or wanted to chat. The first thing that aroused my suspicion that was these girls were ALWAYS on line. I am pretty sure it is just a scam to get you to give your credit card number in order to read these emails and try to contact these babes who were so interested in you just to find that you had been duped. How sad that people would operate at such a low slim level to make a buck.

www.girlsdateforfree.com is a complete rip off. Don't even go there. Here's why: 1. You are told to pay an upfront fee of £19.79. When I checked my credit card later, I discovered an additional charge of £14.90 had been taken. I'm now trying to get it refunded. 2. i dont really know the workin of this site because i never signed up to this, i found out that i was a member one day wen i checked my emails and bank statement and not to mention my missus was beside me. which they so kindly helped themselves to my money with not !1 but 3 payments each one higher and higher.... They are a bunch of scamers, low life scum!!! SO, so many $$$$ later i cancelled the so called account i had, lets just only hope i have successfully removed it... words cannot... (read more)
