I was trying to arrange a viewing on a property with Bridgfords recently, when the agent during the call got to the question of mortgage arrangements. I told him I was currently arranging my own thank you, but he continued to push his own financial services, after declining his offer again for mortgage 'advice' he then told me that it is Bridgford's company policy that viewing on properties can only be made if I have a mortgage offer already in place which was seen by him.
    After I said to him t ...

Bridgfords Countrywide Estate Agents have recently complted a sale for us. We had to chase them all the way through the process. Their fees were exorbitant but the main complaint was the HIPs.

We were told that we required a HIP's pack and so we signed up for it (we were given the impression that it was a standard cost). We were amazed to be charged in excess of £500!

Please, if you are reading this.... don't use this company as they are not interested in your sale. Just every penny they ...

Despite allowing over two weeks for a valuation no one arrived at the agreed time leading to a wasted morning. Bridgefords, Withington are yet to reply to my complaint.

These estate agents are the worst I have ever dealt with. They promised all viewings to be accompanied, this did not happen feedback was never given, I was promised that if I took a lower offer then they would negotiate their fee how ever two lower offers were submitted and I was told this just would not happen. They hardly ever return my calls.

I attempted to sell my house through their Warrington branch last year. They were the most expensive agent in the town by far, and they operated a banded commission system rather than a % commission (the sales pitch is that the fees are 2.5%, but the amount you pay is 2.5% of the upper limit of the band you fall in to).

Never the less, as a first time seller I was nervous about the process and willing to pay a bit more for better service, so I signed up with Bridgfords. The first week or so wen ...

I put my house on the market with Adkins, Countrywide back in March 2006. They valued my house about £15,000 more than any body else, but said they had buyers lined up to buy it. As a result, they said they would charge me a fee of 2% and fix it, so I knew how much to pay. As they were going to get me £15000 more than I thought I would get, I signed up! Anyway, they stuck my house on the market, and surprise surprise, I had little or no interest. After a few weeks I tried to speak to ...

I was trying to buy a house through Bridgfords Countrywide Estate Agents (Handforth). I was renting, and the mortgage was in place and ready to go!

At first I was told there was no chain, then it was a chain longer than my toilet chain. The survey came back with problems with the roof and no lintels, so I paid for a private survey to be done, only to be told the same!

This has taken up 4 weeks of my life, and in between all of this I have made every call to them to tell them what's happening ...

I sold a house in Disley, Cheshire, through Bridgefords Estate Agents. What a mistake!

We were in possibly the shortest chain ever. We were moving in to an empty house, and our buyer was a first time buyer.

It has taken 4 months to move. Mainly because our first time buyer used Bridgefords solicitors, and for taking a mortgage from them. Seemingly there was no explanation for the delays.

They pride themselves on being a "one stop shop" under the countrywide umbrella. You'd think this would me ...

As a seller I was shocked to find out about the contract. It held me in with Bridgefords for 26 weeks, and even after that they wanted commission on the sale if another estate agent sold it and they had introduced the same person (introduced meant giving details out on phone, by hand etc). I would never get involved with them again.

As a buyer, on one occasion they never turned up for the viewing, and on the second they didn't bring the right keys!
