    I have never dealt with an airline (and I fly A LOT) that is more difficult or obnoxious than austrian airlines. I had an emergency medical situation that prevented my traveling and was told that if I sent them a letter from my physician stating I was unable to travel, the ticket would be refunded. I obtained said letter and then 2 days later received a call from another AA agent saying that this ticket was not eligible for refund based on medical reasons. Further, the ticket was only valid for 3 months. It gets better. If I wanted to change the ticket for travel somewhere else within the 3 month period, I would have to book the ticket prior to the date of the original flight or I would have to pay a $200 "NIO SHOW" fee in addition to the $200 change fee. Here's the kicker - they couldn't give me the amount the fare might increase for the new itinerary as they had to call New York for that and they would call me in 2-3 days - AFTER the original flight would have departed. Oh, no problem they said, they would EXPEDITE my request and New York would call me back that day. No call - surprise. Called back the next day and was ON HOLD for 1/2 hour. This airline and it's staff is the absolute pits.

    Vienna-Copenhagen " economy afternoon flight " amazing service from austrian airlines " from Danish newspaper to fantastic hot meal, free wine/beer and coffee. NO doubt the best economy service in Europe!!! I am looking forward to my next Austrian flight.

    I booked online and it booked the flights for the wrong dates. I called them to let them know and they would not change the dates!! If I was changing it after a few weeks, I would understand, but I called as soon as their offices opened. I had to cancel at a lost of $300!! What happened to businesses caring about customer service?

    Austrian Airlines broke my luggage, and when it came to recovering my loss!...They just made a great U-TURN and bargained with me on their own stated and reported value of my luggage!...They reported it for 250 Euro, but they wanted to pay only 100 usd!....We trust on them with our lives and our LUGGAGES!... If something happens to our luggages at their flights, it is their responsibility recover!

    Overall, Austrian Airlines is a wonderful carrier. I wish United took a few lessons from Austrian!

    I flew BKK - VIE - TGD - VIE - BKK this summer with Austrian Airlines. It was overall the best flight I have ever taken (and I do fly a lot). The aircraft were new (B767/some regional liner). The crew was well presented and extremely polite, really going out of their way to keep the passengers comfortable. Quality was consistently good in all 4 segments, and they all arrived. Moreover, they upgraded me to business on the return leg, and agreed to change my ticket date for free. I flew on the che ...

    Austrian Airlines handled flight CDG - VIE - CDG as Air France code shares. Pleasantly surprised by a scrupulously clean and neat cabin with more leg room than normal for bog-standard economy. Also on time both ways. However, that's the sum total of positives.
