Summary

Halifax Online provides the capability to control your account with access to paperless statements, control of direct debits and standing orders, transfer money, pay bills, apply for an overdraft, order holiday money, control share dealing, loans and savings accounts, all from one access. The site does not have security features to foil key logging spyware therefore we would recommend that you don't enter your account details in the normal order.

up to now it has been very useful but suddenly all signing on links appear to have been broken for the last 3 days ( 12th to 14th Dec.09) with no obvious explanation and no immediate contact route.

I Hate these Thieves. They have two class of customers. If you have a Cardcash account you are treated like dirt. No overdraught and you pay much higher fees. You also have to wait longer for cheques and other transactions to clear. I have a cardcash account and my partner has a Current account with them. The difference is clear to me. They feed off the poor. Avoid like the plague,it's a sinking ship.

Main problem is geting on line. The site lets you down and it can be frustrating whne online banking is theonly way you can keep up to date with your accounts.

Once on it is an easy site to use.

Nothing to do with Halifax. Spoken with AOL on 3 occasions since Friday. They confirm the issue is at thier end, on their server. i bet all of you with problems accessing Halifax are with AOL, right? They have no idea of the cause (worrying) and no idea how long it will take to fix (even more worrying). Its not just halifax you cant access, it will be all secure sites with a specific security protocol the same as Halifax's, eg HBOS is also effected I believe and many share dealing sites. ...

I can confirm it's the AOL broadband service provider problem blocking the Halifax website, it's not Halifax themselves. I do have two phone lines at home, one on AOL, one on O2, when I switched my PC to the O2 line, website opens without any problems.
Apart from this, I have never had any problems with Halifax.

For all those people with trouble accessing the halifax online web site, I have been advised that this is actually an AOL issue. If you are using AOL as your internet service provider they are blocking access to halifax for a reason only known to them. Apparently they're looking into it but given that it's been a good 2 days or so now it obviously isn't a priority.. Will probably be switching from Halifax banking soon but will certaining be switching broadband from AOL!

Great on line banking. Alwaya up to date, no mistake in past five years of use. Speedy change of pages. Managing all accounts on on page. Transfers, payments, direct debits, all done with a touch of the button. No security breaks. Highly recommended banking system for a fast moving person.

Although I have used the halifax no for over 30 years I am considering changing to another bank. I was very recently given bad advice that enabled a u.s. company to take over £50 from my account. I had already lost £50 and asked how to stop any more money being paid to the company. I was given such bad advice from many differtrent people that I ended up opening another account with them that I didn't need!!! In the end all I needed to do was ask for anotherr card to be issued so the ...

Halifax card cash have started charging an admin fee of £2.50 for EACH verified card transactions over the internet. This money is returned in time but means that your available balance could be reduced at a critical time. It took four phone calls to their online service before they admitted this. A once proud organisation reduced to a 'Mickey Mouse' bank. And do you know what disapoints me. THEY DON'T CARE!I have checked their website and this fee isn't mentioned. A transaction can be aut ...
