    Good Points: Great ride, very smooth and quiet. Has more power and better acceleration than most V-8 SUV's. The fit and finish is extremely good, and the interior is very well appointed and luxurious.


    Bad Points: Fuel mileage is not very good, but no SUV gets decent mileage.


    General comments: GMC Envoy SLE 275 HP in-line 6:
    First off, I am NOT a fan of SUV's...PERIOD. I can't fathom buying a vehicle that gets half the mileage of a car, performs worse than a 4-cylinder mid-size car, and handles terribly. Unfortunately my wife's friends and family teased her so much about NOT driving a SUV that she traded her incredibly fast, econical and practical sport compact for this gas guzzling monster, even though she never hauls anything and is generally the only person in the vehicle. We test drove a number of SUV's prior to settling on the Envoy, including the Ford Explorer, Ford Escape, Saturn Vue, Buick Rendezvous, Toyota Highlander, Isuzu Rodeo, Kia Sorento and Chevy Trailblazer (which is the same vehicle as the Envoy, but Chevy wouldn't deal).
    When it came to ride, power, smoothness and solid road feel, absolutely NOTHING compared to the Envoy. As SUV's go, it is definitely top notch. In the two years we have had it we have had not one single problem. Of course now that the values of SUV's is falling like a rock, we will probably be stuck with it for a very long time, so it is good for us that it has proven to be such a great ride.
