    I have just had to call their card customer service as I made an over payment and wanted this refunded. After explaining myself about 20 times to the person dealing with the call. I was told they can only refund by cheque and this could take 28 days. giving time to earn interest on my money. They did not explain why it could not go back in to my acc and were so useless. when I do get my money I am going to cut the card up. Rubbish!

    GE Capitals call steering system cuts you off and the call is expensive. Also sometimes the system flags are poor. I accessed GE by phone to gain my balance which was 18.71, however it did take me 3 go's. I wrote down the figure and paid early only to find that the figure was wrong and I owed 7 pence ??? I rang the call centre and spoke to an eastern european lady who undersood my concern and said she would delete the 7 p as it was clearly and error unequivacly. I then received a statement c ...

    debenhams store card is a hopeless service. I have had nothing but trouble trying to make card payments over the years. At last attempt the online service would not accept the password they had sent me, the lengthy and expensive telephone attempts ended with failure to recognise my account number. Finally drove into store to pay and was told they will not accept cheques!

    Great customer service and great benefits from the Debenhams Store Card. Get vouchers through the post every now and again. And invites to sale previews.

    Bought some items from Debenhams and thought I was taking out a loyalty card; at no point was the word 'credit card' mentioned. I'm now desperate to pay for the item I bought and do not wish to activate the card. Am also concerned that the £3 I agreed to pay to get a refund if the item is reduced in the next 100 days is a monthly sum that I have agreed to.     I am fuming at a letter received from Debenhams telling me as i haven' t used my card for a while ( I used it a month ago ) That if I did not make a purchase by 13/07/09 they would close my account ! The money I have spent in Debenhams stores over the years and that is the way they treat their customers !

    Great promotions for cardholders.....you should always ask if there is anything extra for cardholders.

    As long as you can pay the bill in full its a really good idea to get the Debenhams Store card!

    Trying to get through to anyone! Call centre calls cost you an absolute fortune! I had to pay 6.80 in calls trying to get £3.50 refunded that I had been wrongly charged! Debenhams Store Card account now closed (I think) although as I was in credit - still waiting on my money being returned to me.APR is really high too - only recommend if you are going to pay full balance.

    For 10p a minute calls you'd think that GE Money could sort out their rubbish phone line. Sick of trying to call them and not being able to get through to a human. Do they actually care about their customers?

    Debenhams Store Card. The whole store card is not a great thing - with high APR and no insentive to keep you after the first 7 days...You cant set up direct debit to pay, so you HAVE to go in to the store and pay, which is to entice you to buy more items.

    Not enough benefits for me to want to remain a cardholder. Have tried to cancel and pay of balance over the phone but no luck. Card now cut in two

    Just spoke to some call centre guy at Debenhams cards as my old gold card was split and I thought I should replace it. However, as I hadn't used it for 18 months the account had been closed but nobody thought it would be a good idea to let me know.

    Payment Service is good but customer service and internet service is not good enough. GE money needs to improve their customer service centres or incease the number of customer service advisor. Also need to improve online system.

    Generally, I believe that the Debenhams Store Card is a great card to have,as long as all is running smoothly.
    I think that the interest rates are not too exceptional but then, if you can pay full balance then not an issue.
    I find that the Customer service in Debenhams is generally excellent but they appear go that little bit further for store card holders.

    Got a Debenhams Store card on 26th Dec 2006 with the usual enticement of 10% discount
    Returned the goods 27th Dec as it was damaged

    The return zeroed the balance but this return hasn't got through to GE Capital - they still think they are owed for the item

    Has anyone had the same problem ??
