    I bought my Cougar V6 24v 18 months ago with 50k miles on the clock with service history and only one owner and paid only £1600 for it, although today you can pick them up much cheaper - some going for as little as £850. I have found the Cougar to be a really great drive and lots of fun and ofcourse you get the looks as there are not that many left on the road (not that Ford really marketed them properly). I have had people comment - is it a Jaguar? lol. It's not a boy racres dream, but a more mature cruiser, although you can give a few people a fright as you blast past them.

    My Cougar is the 2.5 V6 X pack 2000 Silver Automatic which I brought 10 months ago with 56K miles on the clock from a second owner. What a lovelly coupe ford have produced - not sure why it was not more popular? Stylish, sexy, robust, spacious, practical and economical comes to mind. Yes it has its weaknesses as many cars do - visibilty when reversing, heavy doors, tiny wing mirrors, special tyres.     we have a 2000 special edition in yellow with 180.000 miles . the Ford Cougar V6 24v car is great , two alt. plus tires, brakes . got. it with 35.000 miles 5 yrs. age 180,000 could not have a better car..

    I love my Ford Cougar V6 24v. Had it 18 months and will keep it till it dies. Drive is fantastic although a little twitchy around the bends but wider tyres soon sorted that problem. Very very comfy on long drives and the Cougar X heated seats are a dream in the winter.

    Bought my Ford cougar V6 2 years ago 2000 on an X with 33k miles.
    Now done 53k miles, only thing i have needed to do is replace the battery, and that went the day the day was in for service.

    ive had my ford cougar 2.5 24v for 4 years not many cars can match this car for what they cost my car now is 9 years old and still in lovely condition. nice to drive sporty looking not bad on fuel large boot space cheap to run never let me down.

    I've owned my 2.5L V6 Ford Cougar since April 2001 and still get a tremendous buzz from driving it. It has everything I want from a car...roomy, comfortable and I think that V6 Duratec engine makes such a great roar under full throttle!

    Being based on the MkII Mondeo, it shares many of the mechanical parts and so repair costs (not that I've needed many) seem to be reasonable to me. Apart from routine servicing I've only ever had to replace the front brake pads, even the battery and exhaust are ...

    Been driving my Ford Cougar V6 24v a while now love it to death. Very comfy on long drive's as I do a lot of these. Just had a big service done and WOW the car feels new again and performance well could do with a little more but I'm not complaining. Excellent all round car. Wish parts where cheaper and I love the sound of the engine purrrrrr's just like a cougar should. Just found out that the tyres cost money as long as dont have to change all it wont break the bank lol

    All in all the Ford Cougar V6 24v is a mint nice lookin, smooth drivin car! I would recommend this car to practically anyone for the price they are now, you get a lot for you money! I have just bought my 2.5 V6 manual for £2000 and only has 60K on it. Very pleased with it apart from the fuel consumption (average 25mpg) but only do short journeys really, but what can you expect from a big lump like that!     The Ford Cougar is a sharp looking car, even 10 years after launch, but the stock items performance doesn't quite match the looks, although the car does respond favourably to some engine modifications, mostly by removing the in-built restrictions that Ford seem to incorporate into their cars, one such example of this is the standard exhaust system which is of poor design and very restrictive and if you are a petrolhead who likes to hear the musical qualities that an engine type such as the V6 ca ...

    Just brought a w reg couger love it had mondeo's in past but this is the by far.
    Good all round car loads of space very comfy to drive should have got one sooner.
    Just one issue - now and then will turnover but won't fire can anyone help if I leave it for 20 mins put the throttle flat to the floor it will start seems to me it floods has anybody got any ideas?

    Internal size excellent. Boot space can be enormous. Ride is excellent. It is an American grand tourer front seating is superb, rear is better than an Audi TT. If Ford had produced a mkII I'd have one.
    Mine is V reg & we bought it before it was 12 months old from Fords of Winsford. It is the X pack and being a second car has only done 32k. I keep looking for a possible replacement and its generally a desert out there.

    I bought my 99 Ford Cougar last month and have loved driving it, I would say that they make good value for money and do reasonable mpg. My last car was a Mondeo so I am familiar with Ford. My Mondeo was the most relieble car I ever owned 181k and I hope to get the same from my cougar. I have only owned it a short time but am pleased none the less.

    I've had the Ford Cougar for 18 months and joining the Cougar Owners Club has given acess to everything that you could possibly want to know to keep the car in tip top condition. I've a minor "glitch" where the speedo needle "wanders around the dial" from time to time but otherwise this is the best car that I've owned for many years. Mines done 75K miles on a T plate. I'm looking for a younger one with a Sun Roof and Rear Parking Sensors.

    Owned the Ford Cougar V6 for almost a year now and it has proved to be an extremely reliable car at the same time as being one of the most enjoyable I have ever driven.

    Had a year now, good response from the 2.5 v6, torque is fantastic you can cruise at 15mph in 5th and still pull away, 0-60 just over 7 secs. Only prob you get is a noise in cold weather for the first few minutes when you let the revs drop to tic over, this is known as "moosing" but it doesn't damage the car, it is the IAC (Idle Air Controller) valve. Go for the X-pack, I have slightly modded mine, uprated sports brakes, got rid of the 2ft long aerial for a silver stubby 1, and added a little BM ...

    Only had this a little while and absolutely love it. Wasn't looking for one and nearly brought a BMW318IS coupe. Even made an offer and walked away waiting for a call. Then spotted the Cougar in a local garage really cheap. Phoned a mate whose a car fanatic and he convinced me over the phone. I'm not really a car nut, but this thing has turned me on.     Ford Cougar V6 24v is Fast, looks great sounds great! feels important. Very nice car all in all and with a supercharger possibly one of the best! There a lots of high mile ones out there.
