    Bad Points: Plastic Body made


    General comments: The Nikon F55 is test camera for amateurs in photography. with great value for money and lightweight. Overall it is an easy to use, point and shoot camera.

    Nikon F55 Is One Of The Best Camera's I've Bought. Simple & Easy. Being A Beginner I Needed A Simple Camera And This Was The One For Me.

    Small size handles very well, viewfinder information vg, multi mode, af illuminated for dark focusing. Controls easy to use. I have shot some fabulous pictures with the Nikon F55 camera,

    If you want a fab 35mm for a reasonable price, then the Nikon F55 is a contender. It backs up my Nikon D40 with surprisingly similar quality and results only on film. So there, Sure the pros know F5's and F6's and they know that ordinary lad and lass shutterbugs don't start there. They start out at the beginning with an N5 or comparable and work their way up.

    The Nikon F55 is light weight and cheaper to buy in the USA. I still use this as my mainstay.

    It has a good quality focus on it and it's simple to focus. It's a good back up camera if your main one fails. go old school!!

    Very good camera for the price you pay, looks stylish, but not highest quality body but don't let it put you off, the Nikon F55 is still a great camera for beginners or people not wanting to break the bank!

    The Nikon F55 was my first SLR camera and essentially what got me into photography. I am now a professional photographer and have moved on to, shall we say, more wallet punching equipment. It is basic and cheap but provides you with an entry into the world of SLR photography. With the digital world taking over most people would be put off by the fact that it still requires film which needs to be purchased and developed.     This camera is a baby Nikon, usually sold with a silver "G" series lens. The older Nikon "EM" is pretty close to its style.

    It doesn't have predictive focusing or a fastish motor drive. It is built to a price to compete with the low price 4 series minoltas, mz 60 pentax's and 3000 and 3000V Canons.

    It's made for light to medium usage usually sold with 28-80 and a 75-240 zoom both "G" series lenses.

    The lens mount is plastic and so will not like the heavier pro lens, but is great for a ...
