I had two bikes insured with Bennetts on seperate polices, never made a claim on either. Renewed the second policy again in Septenber 2009 but sold this bike this at the end of November. Like a goog guy (stupid) informed Bennetts that I my next bike will not be ready untill March. Asked could I freeze the policy, but NO they made me cancel the policy charged a wopping 40% short term fee, and then another £30 cancelation fee. Leaving me with a refund of £33 out of a premium £139.00 for less than eight weeks insurance, So be WARNED follow bikers You WILL be charged very unreasonable Fees if you deal with Bennetts. I will never reinsure again with them.

I've never felt compelled to write a review for anything, but on this occasion I feel it's important for fellow motorcyclists to stay well clear.

I'll list a few of my gripes for ease of comprehension:

    - Customer service: Woeful. Having spoken to many of their representatives, I've had to conclude that they are without doubt the rudest, most unhelpful "Customer Service" specialists I have ever had the displeasure of communicating with. Blunt, unapologetic for their various cock-ups and unfrien ...

I am writing to you to inform one and all of my very recent negative experience with Bennett's Motorcycle insurance, and hopefully make people think twice before insuring with them. I'm sure I'm not the only one to be facing hard times in this current economic climate and therefore needing to sell my motorbike. Now I unfortunately I made the mistake of changing my motorbike insurance supplier this year and going with Bennett's, as at the time I thought they seem to portray a good professional im ...

Last year I brought insurance with bennetts for quite a reasonable price but when the time came to renew this year they had put my premium up to £694 (up nearly £200) on last year despite not having had an accident, anyway I decided to go with Caroline Nash who quoted me £220 for a very similar policy so I went with them, unforchantly however I received a letter from bennetts telling me that I had been charged for a years policy (£694) and it turns out that in the small p ...

The lowest of the low, with business practices not normally found outside Nigeria.
They double the premium in the second year, then push the payment through on your debit card as a subscription payment, which the bank can't stop.
They'll refund you if you contact them, but take a £20 cancellation fee and a fee for each day the policy has been 'in force.'

You're not informed of this when you take it out, and there's NOTHING in the policy document about this, so beware the small print which ...

I have just tried to change details of an excisting policy.... it was going to cost more to change for 6 months remaining then a whole new one years new policy ..unbelieveable... the prices quoted on the internet bears no relationship to the price quoted on the phone.... when you are made to contact them by phone.... can,t get a cover note emailed to you and takes upto 7 days to get a piece of paper and it takes them at least 48 hrs to get a faxed copy which you cannot read.... what a shower... ...

My motorbike was stolen in May, it took four months to get my money back and then they only coughed up with two thirds of the insured value.
I was bounced about for weeks between Bennetts, their underwriters and a third party company that checks your claim - during which time my documents were all lost.
It took two letters of complaint and countless phonecalls before I finally got the derisory amount they paid. They don't 'sell' insurance apparently, they only 'arrange' it so if it all goes wro ...

What a nightmare. if you want cancellation charges then go to Bennetts Motorcycle Insurance. They charge 60% of your total yearly fee when you cancel your insurance even if you have payed by direct debit for the last 4 months. I would never deal with them again. Search a bit more when you get a quote your a better of paying extra to avoid bennetts.

Another lesson learnt the hard way. Before you say it I will say it to you read the small print.

I called Bennetts Motorcycle Insurance in June 09 to advise I had sold my motorcycle, this was some 4 months before my fully paid up policy was due to expire. I was surprised to hear that I would not receive anything back on the policy. The advisor then told me that becuase I had made them aware they would need to cancel my policy in 30 days which would allow time to transfer to a new motorcycle if required. No new bike, time elapsed and in July received a letter stating that I 'owed' them &poun ...

Bennetts Motorcycle Insurance should be avoided at all costs, I made the mistake of taking out a policy last year and sorely regret it. They renewed my policy without asking and then charged me £20 to cancel it. If that wasn't bad enough they then took a further £30 and can't explain why or what they will do about it. Calls to them cost a premium (0844), they're creaming it all round. A quick search of the net and I see I'm not alone. Beware Bennetts!

I received their quote for the year to find that it had nearly doubled, so after a few minutes on the web, I had a far better quote and took out the insurance. Two weeks later a Bennetts insurance policy arrived, when I rang them to ask why I was told it was standard and that some customers liked it! I sent the certificate and was refunded, minus £54 for their trouble. I always thought that an agreement with your insurance company was based on honesty and trust.

I then found out you have to pay a £30 pound cancellation fee and £24.58 outstanding balance. What a joke!!! I will never use bennetts again and will advise everybody away from them! They even threatened me with recovery action ect one week after i had cancelled!!! STAY well away.
