I loved the sheer quirkiness of my saab 900 turbo 16s. It's a real marmite car, you either love or hate it's looks. I just liked the fact that it didn't look like any other car. Being a proper saab it took a lot of its styling ques from aeronautics i.e. the excellent ergonmics, the wrap around screen.Ok, Saabs to suffer from chronic turbo lag but when it does kick in you can really feel it. You learn after a time how to time your taking over manoeuvres. The handling wasn't bad either but bear in mind that this car is very long so be careful. It can act like a pendulum if you go round a corner too fast in the wet which can have some interesting results. Being quirky you have to understand that when it comes to fixing something that has gone wrong it can be expensive. A simple clutch replacement cost me north of £500.This car has a real following. Be prepared to cringe when you go past another saab driver as they will wave at you. I have sheepishly put my hand up on many an occassion. useually the guy waving at you has a white beard and is smoking a pipe. Although I have started to see some younger folk driving them (few).I had mine for a year and thoroughly enjoyed it. The only reason I sold it was because the drive shafts were going and I couldn't afford a bill of £700!I'd say a Saab 900 in good nick is definately a good investment as it will be a future classi.

Suspension, safety, engineering, power, cargo capacity is amazing in the 3 door with the rear seat folded flat, amazing in the snow, and unstoppable with studded snow tires.
I love this car and so far I have owned 3 of them and never get tired of them! MUCH BETTER THAN BMW'S, AND AUDIS AND VW!

My 1992 Saab 900s 4 door sedan 16 valve 2 litre Turbo Classic is a beautifull car.
This family, Saab 900 Classic was first produced in 1985 although Saab 900s classics were produced before that date but were 8 valve.
Over this period of time the basic car shape has not changed between the several types , 4 door sedan, 2 door hatchback and the classic 2 door convertible although I suspect the latter 2 have dominated sales.
The build of these cars is what I would describe as industrial, fit for ...
