I bought my Peugeot 106 GTi just under a year ago. At the time I thought I had a pretty good deal on it. Its 2002, had 63000 miles, reasonably good service history and was completely standard except for being lowered 60 all round for £2500. Since then I have had to replace the coil pack, get cam belt changed, and replace the whole rear axel and quite a few smaller problems. But I honestly believe it is worth every penny I have spent on it. My boyfriend has had a lot of small fast cars (Cl ...- Read Helen1628's review (228 words)

Have had my Peugeot 106 for three years now. Looked for it for two years and eventually found a one lady owner car run on modil one all it,s life. Paid about a grand too much but it has been a gem.
Have had puma 1.7 ,106 xsi 306 gti but this one i have kept as i can't find another car that makes you want to take the long way home.
I wanted one of these cars for ages and kept convincing myself to get the sensible option.
Well if you want one get one you won't regret it. The best car i have owned ...- Read Guest's review (205 words)

Buy one. They are very reasonably priced 2nd hand models out there! Very powerful car, rapid acceleration and can climb to high speeds with a few small, cheap tweeks. Leather interior is mint.- Read Guest's review (34 words)

The Peugeot 106 GTi is cheap and is so dated now, just because it is fast does not make it a quality car.- Read Guest's review (22 words)

My Peugeot 106 GTi is the Supercharged version of the 1.6 but I replaced the 16v with 24v instead and what a difference! Even when the car was 16v it was powerful and acceleration flatspots were almost non- existent, but with the addition of a few little extras, the engine was turned from a 'nippy' runner, to a full on 'beast'. The standard vented brakes and callipers cope well with the normal engine power, but when modifying the car, it is essential the brakes are upgraded....... going faster, ...- Read PugHeaven's review (216 words)

I bought my Peugeot 106 GTi for £2500 with 80,000 on the clock. At first it was brilliant, the speed and acceleration was incredible for a 1.6 litre. I found I was leaving some 2.0 litre cars for dead at lights but the fun soon faded away when the cambelt snapped and I was left stranded. After buying a new one I was happy again until the rest followed, my drive shaft snapped, my catalyst converter on the exhaust broke, my clutch went, I'm forever changing bulbs and the most annoying thing ...- Read tim311088's review (160 words)

Haven't as of yet had anything wrong with my GTi but I had a VTS for a year and that was good and reliable but somethings did go wrong. My GTi pulls a lot faster in most gears because its done 60000 miles rather than 104000 of the Saxo plus I had 16's on the Saxo which did slow down the acceleration. And as for those who think the VTS is that second quicker your wrong. I don't no why they are an insurance group lower than the VTS or as to why they say 0-60 in 8.5 i get it in 7 secs all the time ...- Read daniellong's review (233 words)

The Peugeot 106 GTi is a brilliant little car for fun but when buying check the history to see if the cam-belt has been done, and if not try to bring the seller down on the price to allow for replacing the radiator at the same time.- Read schnitzler's review (177 words)

I haven't been very lucky with my Peugeot 106 GTi, one of the pistons on my engine melted because of a loose fragment of metal in the engine, my coil pack has gone and the prop shaft needs replacing but once these things are all sorted, I hope to have it running well. You win some you lose some, but I have decided to keep my 106 because it is a seriously fun car, the handling is fabulous and the engine is rapid for a one six. I love the looks and the interior and hope to have it on the track one ...- Read MrNugen's review (151 words)

My Peugeot 106 GTi is a really good little car. It's quite rough for long journeys but fun all the way. Mine was a good deal - £2100 for a 98, one previous owner garaged, full Janspeed stainless steel system including decat and manifold, CDA induction kit, with only 52k!!!- Read xXxAbbiexXx's review (70 words)

Having owned two of the Peugeot 106 GTi's, this is a very quick car and is the epitome of style. Various mods can be done to achieve an even quicker car for little money in comparison to others. A must have!! Forget the quicksilver/VTR, go for the GTI always. Even by today's standards (the foundations of the car is over 15 years old) it still outshines the newer cars, even the 206. Handling is superb even being on same level as a Porsche Boxster!! Oozes style!- Read Craig Horsfall's review (142 words)

What a car. It's eye catching (especially in Yellow!), great value for money, and there's great mods available to make it even faster! I started off with a Peugeot 1.1i 106 which was surprisingly good considering it's only 60 BHP!, but to then graduate to the GTI, it's in a world of it's own in comparison - so, so quick, with a much better body kit and interior. With the GTI not being made any more, the value of these seams to be holding, if not then it's going up, coz it's getting harder and ha ...- Read r2ydo's review (142 words)

The Peugeot 106 GTi's are great, they are really under rated. they are also easy to mod mine was running at 157 bhp after spending £1,000 on mods, I was keeping up with my mates Type R with ease, they also look great when you drop them 60mm- Read phil106gti's review (94 words)

This Peugeot 106 GTi is great! so much fun to drive. The free revving engine just loves to be revved! It makes you drive it like a maniac because you have to thrash it to the 7250 rpm redline. Handling is really good as you can feel everything through the steering wheel so you know exactly what the car is doing and what it is about to do. I love mine I'm sure you will love yours!- Read bods's review (86 words)
