    Bad Points: Bad point only bad points I found was the exhaust system likes to creat holes for some reason but that could be just my luck witch is easily fixed, if your like me you will end up just replacing the whole system for a raching system but will cost you the guts of 300 euro... Immobiliser is another BIG problem, my last one I was left keying in codes everytime I wanted to start my car, it was a nightmare.


    General comments: Very nice drive, so nice ive owned two, love the look, as for boot space its not somting I worry about as I would use the back seats if I need space.
    Well all in all, I spend around 70 euro for petrol a week for this, 100 if i drive it like a good thing, lovly car, gets you too A and B quick and there VERY reliable bar the Immobiliser but thats just life!

    Not sure if leak is from sunroof or coming in at aerial but it buggars up the immobiliser and leaves you stranded. Stay clear.

    I purchased a 1997 Megane 1.6RT Sport only because it was going cheap and had 12 months MOT. Something to get me to work and back. When I got it it was a horrible tatty old thing. Gave it good old wash, hoover and it looks great. Apart from the odd dent and scratch its not too bad at all. What impressed me the most is the drive.     Very quick for engine size, plenty of room in hatch for dogs wine etc. Regularly went to France and back with 30x6 bottle cases with rear seats down, cruises all day on Autobahn at 100-110 mph and ours is automatic. Quite economical too, not unusual to get 40 plus on a run without hanging about. I would not knock the Renault that I have owned. I've had no issues at all. But time to move on to a Rover 75 estate now.

    I've loved owning the Renault Megane 1.6 RT Sport, it has good acceleration, looks great, handles well and has a great deal of cabin and boot space. The immobiliser however, drives me crazy. And Renault have screwed me over keys - both went within 6 weeks of each other and replacing them is 100 pounds a time. As you can't switch off the immobiliser without them, you're obliged to pay.

    Having owned my 1.6 16v Renault Megane RT Sport Alize for 6 months now, I can honestly say that it still puts a smile on my face. I get between 38 and 45mpg and still get to do 0-60 in under 10secs. the ride is very comfortable, the handling is responsive, and the car is very well specced. My only criticisms are that the handling does feel a little vague and the cabin noise is fairly high at speeds over 75mph (120kph). the gear ratios could have been a little better spread as well, as you feel t ...

    The Renault Megane 1.6 RT Sport is quite a good all round performer with a nice well designed interior, the engine is willing and the brakes are very powerful, my only critisism is a choppy ride.
