Good Points: Great looking especially in white, quite fast and great handling.

Bad Points: Can't think of anything bad exept my heater matrix went twice in 3 years.

General comments: I used to own a Citroen AX gti in white only 50,000 mls Saxo VTR wheels and lowered it 60mm bit harsh to drive but brilliant fun.
I sold it to buy an Escort gti but now wish I still had it boo hoo.

Absolutely rapid and easy to mod. I ruined mine within 4 hours by putting it into a ditch but I had it fixed and I love it. In the future im going to go vts powered. I just got a set of 40 webbers for it but they arent on yet. I recommend this car to anyone who likes a bit of speed.
I dont think ill ever feel the need to sell.

If you can find one with a Good shell, then you are onto a winner! there's a lot of opportunity for a decent AX shell, Vts enigne, Vtr engines, 106 GTi engines, turbo's, TB's, RWD etc etc etc!

Bought my Citroen AX GTI to replace my first car, which was a awful fiat uno. Engine out of a rally AX in a 1.1 forte, running about 100-110 bhp I reckon. Absolutely loved it, never got bored of burning off Audi's and BMW's in it, fantastic down little back roads, although you really need to work the gearbox. Drifts on lift-off too! If you can pick one up cheap (mine was 500 quid), you wont regret it on a twisty road! Just don't expect comfort or refinement - haha!

This Citreon AX GTI is just great! I love it! It gives me so much adrenalin when I'm running on it! I like to get stuck to the seat and watch the power came out of that little engine! I think is just unbelievable the power this small car can produce! But watch out when cornering! It tends to slip from the back but it can be fixed by lowering the back springs! Anyone... if you see an AX GTi for sale... go and get it! You won't regreat it! I didn't!!!

I bought a Citroen AX GTI in 1997, and was gutted to sell it for a bigger car, now I am about to buy another one off a man who has had it since brand new and has truly looked after it. These cars are so much fun. And at £600 fsh 106k on the clock and spent its life garaged, I just had to have it!!

I've owned my Citreon AX GTI for 7 months now and have only had a couple of minor problems, the price of spares! and a leaky brake calliper. Its been well maintained having only one previous owner who stuck to the servicing plan. It handles almost as well as my old mini and I cant fault the engine.

I am a proud owner of a black Citoren AX GTI, it has an induction kit, full 4.5in exhaust, 15in white wheels, clear rear lights, lowered 50mm front avo springs (drag style), bucket seats, rally steering wheel, limo black windows, prowler bodykit, green undercar neons and a phat boot build, this car is now producing 115bhp with a top speed of 120mph+

The Citreon AX GTI is a good small car with a big engine, it's usual to get a consumption around 15l/100k city driving but it's a great fun to drive. I've already got some 15' rimms, rear exhaust, anti torsio bar, lower springs, tinted windows, dtm like window wiper and i'm seriously considering upgrading the engine to a 1600cc 16v saxo's cup.

I got an Citreon AX GTI at the start of the month and dont think i have put any petrol in it since i got it!! they are brilliant on petrol. i have done over 200 miles on a full tank and im sure the tanks are as small as the car. Good going wee car although could be abit more room for the driver.

I love the car and own one it is a fast thing for its size and engine size.
It is light and can be flipped over pritty easy and they are hard to fix.
