I've had the ford fiesta 1.25i 1997 for around 11 years and drives perfectly well. I've now done 162,000 miles and haven't replaced the clutch or timing belt. I'm thinking of doing that very soon. It can get rusty underneath but apart from that its cheap to run. As long as you keep servicing everything 6 months the engine will last you a long time. Its easy to service yourself.

The Ford Fiesta Mk4 1.25 Zetec is a wicked little car, its my first one but it shocked me with its nippyness. The customisability of it is also another upside, i've put some speakers in the back either side of the parcel shelf, new front ones and a sub and it sounds awesome. I've also installed my own remote central locking system in it which is ace.

    1997 Ford Fiesta Zetec-S Ghia

My Ford Fiesta has done 66,363 miles and is still going strong, be that with a few problems.

Its M.O.T is due on the 13th of October and it ain't going to be cheap. It needs new brake pads and disks, the bushes are splitting, the rear brake bleed nipple is corroded and the back section of the exhaust is not worth having its so rusted and corroded.

YES! Theres more! The drivers side electric window sticks when its almost fully up bacause the motor needs changing ...

I have owned two 2002 ford fiestas, a 5 door and now a 3 door.
I got the first one back in 2007 as a cat D and repaired it to a high standard. I felt the car was really nippy, it got me past tractors and slow wagons like i was goin round cyclists. Both of mine are the "freestyle" trim, which is well equipped, CD radio, Power windows, A/c, Front foglights, digital trip and other toys.
I bought my second fiesta 1.25 Zetec SE. This car has 145,000 miles on it and has just passed its MOT with som ...

I had purchased the mk4 zetec 1.25 as my first car as was rather impressed with what i was getting. It is a very nippy car when driving down hill but uphill, its performance is pretty awful. Steering is very light. Quite a gready car petrol wise. Electronics were sound. Known as a lasting car and very cheap to maintain. Modifications can be easily added to the car such as new sound system which i did (ghet the correct removal kit, cables and bracket/fascia)

Unfortunately i ended up writing the ...

I have bought a ford fiesta mk4 zetec for the WIFE as a FIRST Car. Its the 1.25 zetec AUTOMATIC! I drive it more than my CLIO RS 2.0 Sport!! It has a great feel good factor. Electrics are good, radio is strong, steering is light and tax is low. ideal first car. very easy to modify if wanted to, and imprtantly, you can work on the car without the fear of taking it to a Garage to fix (via plug in to a computer) Highly recommended.

We use Ford Fiesta Mk4 1.25 Zetec as basically a MPV - there's 5 of us me, wife and 3 kids, we go camping alot were really adventurous and outdoorsy we luv dis lil car we even got a small trailer that we never take off (Oh and my driving is definitely not the best but its survived even though it now has no back bumper of wing mirror.

Its a tough lil car and were giving it to our son who is 17 in 3 months and looking to get a vauxhall vectra :)

Ford Fiesta Mk4 1.25 Zetec cars are fantastic
they can be modified quite easily even though parts for modifing aren't easy to get.
there is a cheap and cheerfull way though....... they run on the same chassis as a puma so parts off of thoes near enough fit straight onto the fiesta e.g. brakes and suspension.

Have owned one of these Ford Fiesta Mk4 1.25 Zetec for the last 4 years, could hardly be happier! In comparison to other small cars with similar engines you can't do much worse than this, some friends who have had similar cars (punto, polo, ibiza, swift) have all spent more maintaining and repairing and with the exception of the Polo my fezzy can out-drag all these! Handles very nicely (although my driving isn't the best!) and if you're after a bit of fun the back end will kick out a little with ...

No car of this age is overly reliable, but it helps that Ford parts are reasonably cheap. But that's boring and this car is not. If you are a prospective buyer on a budget, you need this Ford Fiesta Mk4 1.25 Zetec car!

The Ford Fiesta Mk4 1.25 Zetec is fantastic as a 1st car

Got a Ford Fiesta Mk4 1.25 great car. Mine is the zetec LX, and has the fog lights on the front and the flip spoiler in the back

Ive had a few issues with mine down to lack of care by previous owners

And now the expected faults like the timing chain being worn have appeared however a common problem is the motor in the back wiper failing, mine is one of them.

Ive easily managed to change my radio to a standard one from the fiesta fitte ...

I've had my Fiesta 1.25 zetec-s (ghia model) for about 2 years. The engine is very reliable and nippy. It's rated at 75ps but I know its considerebly more than that as my friend has sporting punto that is rated at 80 odd but i always leave it standing from pulling off and overall speed is slightly quicker. I have ghia model which I think is great as you get everything elec windows, sunroof, aircon, wood effect dash and nice seats, just put a spoiler on it andyou have a zetec model but with al ...

For the size of the engine these little cars go like stink! Second and third gear are great for putting down power, havent found many same sized engine cars that can beat it! Great little cars, quick, responsive, sound good, look good and can often pick them up fairly cheap!!! Got mine as my first car n am so chuffed with it!!!Bit of a lurch in the power band in 1st and 2nd up until about 2,000rpm. No power in 5th when fully loaded (4 passengers) but apart from that i absolutely love the car!!!

Had my Fiesta MK4 Zetec for two years now it has been very reliable, small but efficient and good for petrol. Good performer, wippy for small engine, runs well and sounds nice but the interior feels cheap.

I have a 1.2 Ford Fiesta zetec mk4 W reg only done 40k miles. Its a great looking little car I've have her 8 months now and she hasn't given me any problems yet. Such a nice car to drive when you have got used to the clutch. All my friends love it, they call her Fiona! I would definatly recommend it to any new driver.
