I have owned my 2 litre VW Golf avantgarde for just under a year now, and despite the bad weather I really dont care the roofs up, I think despite the bad points mentioned about trhe fuel economy and gearbox, vw have done an overall good job, sadly mine has to go as my partner is pregnant so need a family car, selling her will be the hardest thing ive ever done.

VW Golf cabriolet karmann, I recently purchased the car despite my pregnant partners dispair, but after one drive she loved it! One of the best cars i have driven (out of 27) well recommend.

1994 silver Avantgarde, standard except it's lowered and has Oz racing alloys, A very pretty car, great fun, electric hood down/up in a few seconds. An easily looked after simple, basic piece of machinery.
My first venture into a convertable for many years. I'm 55 (male) I think my last convertable was a red K reg. (1972?) 2.0L TC Alfa spider in the early 80s, which used to fill up with rain in the footwells..hood great though, manual, down/up in seconds from the driver seat; also very fast an ...

I have had my Golf Cabriolet for 18 months now, it's 10 years old and still looks better than some newer cars. I spent more than I wanted to when I bought the car but I don't regret it for 1 minute. It is my pride and joy. It still has only 68000 on the clock so there's stacks of life left in her yet. I would recommend these to anyone, in fact if I won the lottery I would upgrade to a brand new one - no fancy Porsche for me!

Bought for my wife a Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet as a runabout for shopping and dropping kids to school etc. Only has 60,000 km so far but seems to be a reliable, economical and practical little cabrio. Just returned from a 2500 km holiday over some average roads with no problems and 40 mpg average. Boot was just big enough for luggage for the 4 of us. I think I've been converted.

I've had my VW Golf Cabriolet Avantgarde from new and picked out a non standard mixture, silver, blue hood and grey interior. Very nice combination. Looked at changing to a new hardtop convertible when they came out buy they all feel like toys, plastic and cheap! Could not even bring myself to test drive they just did not feel safe!! Went away travelling for 6 months decided to sell my car but upon return fell in love with it all over again : ) Mine is not garaged and has never leaked and lo ...

The Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet is good on fuel I get about 38 round town 48 motorway, if not more.If you haven't had a convertable before the background noise may take getting used to but it's not that bad.In the 5 years I had my car it has never let me down, it starts first time ever time. It has only every cost me general maintenance.

Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet is a great car, great fun all year round. heated leather makes it good in the winter as well. As reliable as every other VW it will go for ever and ever .. mpg ain't the best but who cares when your looking this good the Avantgarde is just packed with little extras I keep finding every day ... superb reliable cabrio.

I have owned my Golf Cabriolet 2.0 Avantgard for over 2 years and I am the 6th owner, now the mileage is 96500 miles.. It has never ever let me down and has always started first time on calling. I love the fact it can seat 4 and has a big boot as well... when ever there is a trip out and it's sunny, my phone never stops ringing for lifts!!!Its never going to win any speed records, but it cruises on the motorway very happily at 80-90mph and on a good run you can get nearly 400 miles out of a tan ...

I bought one of these Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet 2.0 Avantgarde Sports Cars because of how it looked. How dumb do I look now? It's a piece of rubbish. It spends almost as much time in the shop as it does parked behind my apartment! I've spent thousands on it. I wish I had bought a hardtop of something else instead. It leaks all winter - which is fine if you don't drive in the rain and have a garage to put it into. You cannot keep the water out. The dealer told me I would have to spend $4250 on a ...

The Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet 2.0 Avantgarde is probably the most unreliable car I have ever bought, although only 29,000 on the clock and top of the range when bought (Now 39,000). After replacing the clutch within a short time of purchase, I have had - and still have coolant problems and battery discharging problems (despite replacing with a new battery) The final straw was massive electrical failure with the wiring loom burning out.
