I have a metro gti M reg last of them :) I've fitted a mgf 1.8 vvc running at about 165BHP
All I can say is WOOOO so powerful and shocks so many cars ( HONDA TYPE R and THE SEAT CUPRA R RS TURBO'S and EVEN MY M8'S BMW M3 ) the metro is starting to come to life once again as becoming retro just like the mk1 escorts.
BIG SMILES for the little pocket rocket :)- Read waynef's review (79 words)

The Rover Metro GTi 16V K Series car handles so well and it's really fast! The car really scared me the first time I drove it. These cars are really easy to work on and mod, really quick and so much fun to drive.- Read johncolin2006's review (58 words)

I payed £500 for my Metro, it was a 1.1c. I changed the engine for a 1.6 16 valver out of a 25. 145 bhp with vhpd throttle body conversion, with a jan speed inlet manifold, and kent high lift cams. sits quite nicely at 145mph with the cableshift pg1 gear box out of the mgtf. The handling is feeble as standard, but with Volkswagen Polo rear shocks, and MGTF front coil-overs, with the standard gti anti roll bars, it goes round corners like its on rails! The only thing to let it down is the r ...- Read roadrunner85's review (159 words)

Loved owning the Rover Metro GTi 16V K Series, loved the performance that you could get out of such a small engine, bags of power in reserve, when modified you can get an extra 50-70 bhp (if done properly), handling is brilliant compared to the standard metro.- Read jamieturbogti's review (67 words)

All in all the Rover Metro GTi 16V K Series is one of the best cars around, I think small nippy reliable you can fit a fur bit in the back, three kids no problem. Cheap to run and hardly any faults with it. What can i say, good on Rover Metros.- Read SHAUNBOY's review (138 words)

Bought my Rover Metro (GTa 16v) 2 months ago and I just love it! K reg with only 39,000 mls, bought it for £76 off ebay. Needs a bit of a touch up, rear arches, sills etc... Goes like a train, 120 mph! Overall 9.9/10- Read oldmiller8's review (43 words)

The Rover Metro GTi 16v - K-Series are very good cars. I have the 1800 k series in mine and with uprated suspension it handles like a dream.
I rate them above many other cars I have driven and don't mind oblidging many a b/racer in other more normal cars in showing them the error of their ways if they laugh at my car.
Its quick, corners just as well. But still gives very good mpg.- Read Ms GTa's review (83 words and 1 comment)

I'm running 165 bhp under my metro i've had it 2 years and so far spent 2k. so far i've blown away RS TURBOS/UNO TURBOS XR2/3i's and it feels great. All my mates who have been in my car have all commented on have fast it is and that they never thought such metro apart from the 6r4 could be as quick as it is.- Read Trix's review (72 words and 1 comment)

I bought my Flame Red 1990 SPI Rover Metro GTI in 1992 with 8500 miles on the clock. It now has 54000 from new. It is mint and is probably one of the finest GTI's in existence. It is Motobuild of Hounslow modified - 2" bore exhaust ( it sounds gorgeous just like a BTCC car )& PiperCross Air Filter. Just these simple mods have increased the power on the Rolling Road from 95 to 108bhp. Torque is up too. These figures beat the MPI car in standard form. I am glad that it does not need a power absorbi ...- Read Paula H's review (345 words)

The Rover Metro GTi 16v - K-Series is a great addition to the boy racer circle. A very fast little car indeed. Get one in good condition, and your laughing. The MPI version being the faster one with an additional 8bhp is recommended. Its great to see the look on the face of the bloke who just spent £11,000 on a Saxo VTS only to get beaten in a race by the good old Metro. Thumbs up, a classic hot hatch.- Read vegascorp15's review (103 words)

Owning a metro GTi 16v for my first car is brill, just the other day had this ponse sat behind in his Ford RS Turbo (zzz) giving it some. Got to a straight road and he decided to try n overtake me, so i put me foot down and when he read me badge as i undertook him and left him 4 dust he was quite impressed when he rolled up 5 mins later at the same garage as me. He comments "Whats in that bonnet" I reply "About 165 BHP" 1.8 vvc (MGF Engine T160) "O" He replies When i tell him that it runs 0-60 i ...- Read Jonny's review (191 words and 7 comments)

Rover Metro 1.4 GTi, I own one, and they are a very sexy looking car. I goes like anything and dont you just love looking in the rear window, as the toss in his little 1.2 Nova dissapears into the disstance and your foot isn't even at the floor. Well i do!
Another good bonus you dont watch the fuel neadle go down when your foot does.
My car is spotless and cost me £450 with 35,000 on the clock. (And not a spot of nust in sight)

Without doubt the fastest car I've had, due to it's ridiculously high power to weight ratio. I've got a BMW Compact now and I'd never catch it. Good engine noise, excellent power, good MPG, nice exhaust rasp. Mine was a MPI version, I am told that you should not consider the SPI as it is basically a GTa, though I've never driven the SPI. Good looks and excellent power, cheap parts. Build quality is poor, and as with all metros the back arches will be shot with rust. General feel of the car is 't ...- Read Matt's review (123 words and 1 comment)
