Good Points: Cashback - so I thought.

Bad Points: Cashback - use the card or loose the cashback (T&Cs quite woolly and badly worded).

General comments: Signed up to Morgan Stanley card a while ago, which was then transferred to Goldfish, at which point the cashback T&Cs were completely changed (now they're quite woolly and in my opinion don't explain how the cashback works very well). Hadn't used my card in a while, but cashback balance was unchanged until I used my card again... at which point the cashback just vanished - imagine that!
1st customer service agent was very helpful and offered to reverse the forfeit, but cut me off when transferring me to her manager. 2nd agent was as rude as they come and told me I shouldn't have signed up to a card if I don't understand the T&Cs. Hmm - how very insightful! In fact I didn't sign up to the current T&Cs, and I certainly wouldn't sign up again!
They've offered a reduced amount of my cashback to be paid back to me - but not holding my breath at this point...

If you don't claim the cashback you don't get it. If you don't use the card for 12 months, you lose it. Customer services are not the best I've encountered.

Going to switch my card over because of poor customer service. The APR isn't great so you would expect a good level of service considering the high interest rate.

I have been a Morgan Stanley customer for ~10 months now. The most disappointing thing is the standard of customer service. It feels like they are 'bothered' by your call (you want what type of attitude) and generally give the wrong answer. I call to be told one thing, ring a week later to be told another. I have dealt with HSBC for all my life (current account) at least when you call you get the right answer. I also think the online banking is poor (though workable) and I struggle to believe i ...

Customer service is horrendous... I keep a LOT of money with these people and when I called to dispute a $200 charge on my credit card they acted like it was a hassle so I would say they need to improve their customer service

Overall I thought I would like this card, but as soon as a pay off this month (like I do every month...on time) I'll drop the card and go back to AMEX or (shock) HSBC. At least you can call them and they have set procedures for issues

I had a Morgan Stanley card for a few years and used it for almost all my purchases. I travel abroad a lot and recently have had almost all my transactions canceled without warning - causing me major problems and embarrassment in hotels and stores around the world. Online purchases have been canceled leading to missed birthday presents and bill payments have been canceled leading to delayed payment penalty charges. I have had no explanation or prior warning for this. I spend £20-40k a year ...

Morganstanly can do better by giving 1% cashback for every pound spent on the card instaed of giveing 1% cashback for every £2 spent on morganstanly card because there are cards were you can get 1% 1.50% and 2% cashback on some credit cards.

They reduced my credit rating without warning by 2/3. We paid off the full balance at the end of each month but they still reduced our limit without letting us know. The only reason I can think of was that we were earning to much cash back.

In such a highly competitive market why do Morgan Stanley believe that customers will put up with such dreadful customer service?

And what does it say about their IT system that they are having to adjust a large tranche of accounts manually? Doesn't inspire confidence, does it?

I thought I should post this about Morgan Stanley. Sorry in advance for the length.

In June 2006 I took out a credit card with Morgan Stanley with a deal of 2% cash back for 6 months which would then revert to 1%. When it arrived I started using it and everything was fine. After the second month I noticed that the cash back hadn't been applied properly as only 1% had been applied. When I contacted them I was told not to worry as they were aware there was a problem but it would be sorted out b ...

The Morgan Stanley Fly Credit Card is worth the try if you could control your spending and you know that you can repay the loan in due course.

The Morgan Stanley Credit Card appeals to businessmen who travel abroad a lot. The benefits etc can be attractive for some, but beware. If you lose the card or whatever, anywhere, you could be left absolutely high and dry without a card for interminable periods. Frankly, it is too risky to rely on. Only use the card if you have an alternative at hand to use.

The Morgan Stanley Credit Card is not a bad all round performer. I would recommend them to friends and family. Never had any problems with them and account has been running smoothly for over 18 months. There are better cashback deals out there, however.

I used to think very highly of the Morgan Stanley Credit Card - but now for the second time they have 'accidentally' closed my card without warning because of activity on a different account I held. Nobody followed up the fact that my replacement card was not activated for several weeks - surely normally enough to warrant a security check call. They have also decided to reduce the time between the statement date and payment date - but only if you pay the full amount by direct debit, which I woul ...

This company has become mean and greedy sneaking in charges everywhere. Get an egg money card instead and they'll give you 4% interest if your account is in the credit.

    AVOID MORGAN STANLEY credit card

After being a loyal customer of Morgan Stanley for approx 7 years I received a letter with my statement saying that I would be charged £20 a year for the privilege of using their card.

After contacting their customer relations dept I was told that the decision would stand and I would have to pay the £20 to use the card and told that this only applied to classic card holders and not platinum cards, when I asked for the platinum card instead of my classic one I was told that I could ...

I would not recommend the Morgan Stanley credit card. The good rate of interest may seem appealing at first, but the amount of stress it causes is not worth it. They have carried out two balance transfers without my consent. I had no idea where this money was supposed to have gone. It took me several months to reclaim it. I am still in dispute over yet another unauthorised transaction they have carried out. My experience with them has left me with £3,400 debt that I shouldn't have, and a b ...

I was advised that they had increased my APR rate as a consequence of a credit check with Experian, but would not give me details. I subsequently ordered a credit report myself from Experian and found no adverse comments whatsoever on it, and also had a rating of 999 out of 1000. 1000 being the best possible score! Morgan Stanleys' own feedback to Experian on my transactions was also flawless. In other words they had no justification whatsoever for the 50% increase other than pure greed. Further ...
