    Good Points: Seemingly they do pay out quicker than other insurers I've heard/read about.


    Bad Points: Their out of hours service is appallingly bad when you do have to make a claim.


    General comments: Well from reading around I believe Equity Star paid out for my motorbike theft comparatively quickly. It took five weeks and many phone calls. The initially said it's been authorised, then said no it hasn't. They also said they didn't received the report even though the investigation company had sent it. They said the money will be in your account on Wednesday, a week later it wasn't thus needing another two calls to hassle them.

    However my motorbike would not have been stolen had their out of hours service actually had my details on file. By the time recovery was arranged for my bike the theives had had it away in a van lock and all. I went through Direct Choice insurance brokers.
