Good Points: Coffee tastes great when the machine is just out of the box and it still works.

Bad Points: Will break within a very short period of time. AEG customer service while friendly are completely useless in their technical abilities from what I have seen. Be warned, I had a part replaced. The part was the wrong part which the engineer admitted, but the part was still charged for along with the correct part. Very poor.

General comments: The theory behind the AEG PE8039M machine is really nice. The finish is nice. That's where the nice part finishes. The build quality of this product is well below acceptable levels. In short I've owned this coffee machine for 5 years. In those 5 years I've had 4 complete replacements as it keeps failing in a big way. I would have had a 5th replacement but just my luck that the last machine made it JUST past 12 months old so AEG would no longer touch it.I can only say that from my point of view it look s like its the poor build quality of AEG and Electrolux. During the 4 changes the model has changed slightly each time. Sometimes they've been obvious attempts at improvement, others just to cheapen parts. Not one attending AEG engineer (including the head engineer for Europe who was sent out to my home because of the issues) has any clue how this machine works or anything about it.The final fault that brought this machine to it's end was the boiler has split and it spew's boiling water over its own internals and comes pouring out of the front. Water and electricty don't mix. One dead machine (although the grinder still works, but don't get excited I've had the machine replaced before because two grinders exploded).

I liked this AEG PE8039M coffee machine because it was fully automatic. The back up from AEG is poor. The engineer that came to look at it didn't have a clue how it worked. The parts are extremely expensive (mine was a heater, a main part) which I needed after few months. Do not reccommend. AEG do not want to know if out of guarantee. I now have a useless hole in my newish kitchen because I cannot afford to have it repaired.
