Just seen your site and thought I'd let you know about the main difficulty of trying to open an account with Barclays and most other Banks - the excuse, on enquiry about the matter is that it is Government regulation, because of money laundering, etc., etc. - for Heaven's sake where does the madness stop? Do they want nore customers or not; after all, it's a fair bet that if you open an account with a Bank whilst you are young, you will more than likely stay with them! I have, therefore just sent the following email to Barclays - don't suppose I'll get anywhere, still, it's worth a try!

I am a long standing customer of your Bank, holding three accounts with you. My granddaughter (16 tomorrow and staying on at School) needs a Bank Account, I therefore, looked at your offerings.
Who exactly thinks out these conditions of application ie. ID needed? What 16 year old has a driving licence, or utility bills (paid or not)? ALSO, IN MOST CASES, HOW CAN ONE PRODUCE A BANK ACCOUNT STATEMENT WHEN ONE IS JUST TRYING TO APPLY FOR ONE?
Also not ALL teens have a Passport.
You ask for feed-back - this is it.
I am totally dsigusted with your services.
