Despite Taken getting some very ordinary reviews from the critics (or slated in some cases) I enjoyed it. And that despite a scene where teh boffins identify the town someone came from by using a recording of his voice - and in 15 seconds! Ridiculous. But, if you want to sit back and watch a better than average actor having fun with a silly premise, then give it a go - Believable lead actor, good gritty action, although Some laughable plot dynamics

I was hooked to Taken from the outset and coulnt take my eyes off the screen... being a father myself and ex forces i was empaphising with all he was going through and was prepared to go through.... Liam Neeson is a perfect figure for this role... he isnt muscle bound with a history of hardcore action... a perfect idea of a father

Great action after the first 30 minutes. Being a mom, I can feel what the main character is going through and it feels real. Taken is absolutely a great movie. When I heard what the movie was about I thought it might be something like Death Sentence (which I absolutely loved!!!) So I thought, I have to see this film. Although it's quite different than Death Sentence, it's a great movie. Lots of action, a great plot, and the ending isn't so bad either.

Taken is a good action film with superb directing, excellent editing, good acting and many things combined in to one.

Stretching cinematography and interesting, fast paced action sequences.

Like many action movies these days it seems the director has discovered that a camera doesn't have to sit still on it's mountings and can be shaken like an egg, some people may like this but I find it to be frustrating and take away from great action sequences.

Taken is fast moving and very exciting. There is not a dull moment in the entire 90 minutes. The film is definitely one you will remember and you will not regret making your ticket purchase. The film is irrational but is still outstanding. The chances of a man succeeding in what he attempts to accomplish are slim to none but one needs to simply overlook this in order to really appreciate the film.

I was watching a different movie before I watched Taken. The projector broke so I got to watch another movie for free. Luckily, I chose this one.I'm not a big fan of action movies but this one was special, it really got me into the story. It was suspenseful, had an excellent plot, and I actually gasped out loud in some parts. This movie "Taken" is the shiz, i just saw it with some friends, very gripping storyline, and SOOOOOOOOOO worth the money. You gotta be a little sceptical about films nowadays, but this is one great action film that you will not regret taking the time to go see.
Great action scenes, Story and plot, great actors, great suspense.

Taken is a good flick I'll see it again. If you like baddies, you'll like this movie. Even though the plot is not that imaginentive, it is a good action packed flick. His counter part in the French government intel was predictable as a bad guy.

Hard to believe that one person can do so much damage. Makes you wonder how dumb the enemy is. But Taken was entertaining.

Taken is a great action film. Very credible. Better than James Bond.
Story that you can follow and enjoy even when you can predict the ending.
You wished it would twist and turn some more and more.
I could see it again and enjoy it . Simple plot under developed.

I recommend Taken for the social awareness factor. Also, it does show that the bad guys, really are bad and don't have a slick moral code underneath their bad tuff exterior, they are just plain worthless trash. Famke is weak. Why are all exwives married to millionares? No realistic. Why do all exwives lie to the husbands? ok they do, but predictable. Taken is an action thriller from the word go! I do not even usually like this type of movie and thought it was GREAT! Slow start.....Dad seems weirdly over possessive of daughter. As the plot unfolds the Dad goes from cranky old sidewinder to shrewd international know it all. Lots of surprises and intense drama. Loved it.

Taken is one of the best action films I have ever seen. Even though the plot is rather mundane, the direction and acting make this a definite hit. The story revolves around the attempt of a retired CIA agent to rescue his kidnapped 17-year old daughter from a ruthless prostitution ring in Paris.
