I own this 1997 Daewoo Espero LE, i dont know what LE stands for, but maybe its "Limited Edition". It came with leather seats in it, wood panels, and 15" wheel (195/60/15). It's fast, but not fast enough :P hit 180 km/h but i know she trying for it :) in the manual book, it's say 119HP and 17,8 Kgm. i dont know its the truth because i found out on the internet that C20LE just made 105HP.
In my country (Indonesia), it's hard to find the aftermarket kits for daewoo espero. even the aftermarket spring.

I use this Espero after her 6th birthday, before that, this car just playing around the garage. so that I've had these problems like, sensor problems (TPS,ISC,MAP), break problems (too weak) i've converted the rear brake, from drum to disc, its cost me USD400 (converted it to dollar), and suspension problems (the shock absorber just kinda weak).

but now, I've repaired almost all the problems and my espero runs just perfect.

My friend of mine once asked me about the price of Daewoo Espero, and It's really really cheap here, maybe you can bring this car to your garage for about USD2000. Really cheap, ain't it?

thanks, greeting from Indonesia, sorry for my bad English. :)

The Daewoo Espero 2.0 is the best mid-size car built in 1990. I bought it brand new and have reached decent speeds and it reaches about 150 km/h with third gear. It's a very good car and still no problems with it.

The Daewoo Espero can be quick to accelerate in no time at all provided the exhaust muffler is always clean. So if you have one, periodicaly clean the exhaust muffler and use only unleaded gasoline.

A great car, after owning a Deawoo Nexia previously, I knew what to expect roughly. This car has exceeded all my expectations and still makes me smile while I drive it. It could do with a little more power, but overall I am extremely happy with this car.

The Daewoo Espero can handle rough gravel roads better than most cars of similar type. It is a car I would recommend a friend to own.

On the whole the Espero is a waste of money I personally will not buy a Daewoo Espero again or any Daewoo for that matter.

The Daewoo Espero 2.0 is a great car, would buy other Daewoos/Chevrolets like this no question.
Very reliable and practical. All the mod cons you need.
I have chipped mine and added a decent air filter just to make a great car even better.
Will keep for many years yet I hope.

1996 Daewoo Espero 2.0CDX family car I purchased in 1999. Very attractive metallic British Racing Green colour, fairly modern shape and high-shine alloys make for a pleasing looking car. Handling is good although roll angles prohibit very fast cornering. Acceleration very good, if rev's are kept above 3k. High speed cruising is quiet and comfortable (Only 2.8k revs at 70mph). Petrol consumption (average 32mpg) very good for my mainly city use. In 44k mikes of driving the car has never let me dow ...

The Daewoo Espero 2.0 is a geat little family car, big enough for a family but not expensive to run like a larger V6 or V8. Alternator needed to be replaced at 100,000km and aircon had leakage at 110,000km but that is the first problems i've had with the car since purchasing in 1997. Good acceleration and very easy to drive. Not well known therefore cheap to buy.

I've had this Daewoo Espero 2.0 family car for one year now and I'm quite satisfied with this car. It's not perfect, but it's a cheap car compared to similar cars with the same specs. I have had no starting problems with it, even at -25C and I have also had pretty good performance on snow and ice (but not nearly as good as my old Saab, so I have been stuck on some occasions where my old car would have droven without problems).

I had to replace the starting engine and an original Opel part co ...

I own a Daewoo Espero 2.0 CD Automatic since 1996.
I really do belive this is a fine car.
It is certainly well equipped and has an engine that is easy to maintain.
It's spare parts are really cheap.

Firstly to stop it from being a daewoo, take off the daewoo badges at the rear and the front.
Put something on the front and then it is unrecognizeable and you will get more respect.
WHen i tell people i own a daewoo they laugh, but when people see my car and they dont know what it is they turn green with envy. It is a good car, just a bit old tech but its loaded with features and the engine car be tuned to a power level beyond the new camry's and corolla's for a very low price [ less than u ...

It is to my understanding that the daewoo espero was produced between 1992 and 1997. I own a 1996 model CD 2.0 litre.
To begin with allow me to remind everyone that he Espero was an upmarket copy of an already produced vehicle in the 1980's the Camira.
I say upmarket because only some of the designs used were from the Camira technology but others werent. The engine and Chassis were taken from the drawing tables at General motors, the reason for this was because daewoo had no idea and no money ...

Since 1996 im the owner of a Daewoo Espero, only it is not a 2.0 cd, but a 1.5 glx!
I am placing this review, because the 1.5 is very hard to find (everywhere) and it is almost the same car as the 1.8 and 2.0 except for the engine, abs, airco and electric mirrors!
I must say that this car is the best thing that ever happened to me.
The only things that ever broke down on this car are the tailpipe (twice) and the dynamo!
The engine is very, very powerfull, although is has only 90 hp and the a ...

I think that Espero 2.0 is the best car Daewoo ever build. I reached 195 Km/h and I think I could have reached 200Km/h with an appropiate fuel. The car is performing well up to 4000rpm in to the 5 gear (at 4000rpm in 5 gear espero has 160Km/h). The crue speed is 150-160Km/h. I paid 4.500 USD for an 1996 model. The consumption is pretty good:8l/100Km. My Espero consumed 8l/100Km on a 700Km route with a 120-130Km/h speed.
    I love this car.

I bought the car from an old man who never used it. So I got a good mileage, and a car basically never used. But then, the troubles come, ignition problems ,shortcuts, etc etc. Then failures in the cooling system, and finally has to replace the water reservoir and the radiator fan

The engine runs smooth on open roads, and im getting good performance and low gas costs.

If you get one, check the electric system and do as I did, re-wire the entire car and you will be pleased with a good looki ...

I am from Bucharest in Romania and I bought my '96 Daewoo Espero 2.0I two years ago. This car is more like a vacation car and I am using it only during the summer when I am going to Romania. It has been a very good car - never had a problem. When I bought it it had 61,000Km and this year it turned 80.000Km never went anything wrong with it.
Really good car and OK fast, got it up to 210 KM/h and 0-100 in 10.9 sec.
