I bought a Citroen Saxo VTR on an 02 plate and kept it for 7 years it had 8000 miles on the clock when i bought it, during this time i had no major problems with it, it handled brilliantly round corners and was quite nippy off the mark, it was silver and looked great I would recommend them to anyone.

Too low to the ground, really bad suspension, braking in this car is shocking, needs loads of maintenance. As many cars are put together really badly, drinks loads of fuel. Exhaust always falls off, watch out for disk brakes.

I ' ve owned my vtr 6 months now on a W plate (00) I brought it for 1800 with 73000 on the clock it was already half done up, I always wanted one and I ' m glad I brought it because there awesome I would definitely recommend it to a young boy racer like my self! The acceleration is pretty impressive put an induction kit and straight through exhaust and you ' re looking at 0-60 in the late 7's, lowering it helps it take on roundabouts so well, although it does have downsides, if well maintained i ...

Sadly my Saxo has just died on me. I think its the head gasket thats gone. Ive been offered 150 Part Ex for it but Im just wondering the best way to recoup some money from selling it for parts, anyone got any suggestions that could help me? Or even better does anyone want it? Everything else is in perfect working order.

I ve had my Citroen Saxo VTR for a few weeks and I love it, before this I had a Saxo 1.1 which obviously wasn t much special, but is faster than most 1.1 and 1.2 cars out there, but the VTR is so much better.
Everything is upgraded like brakes and engine performance and is easily the best hot hatch out there. Not only are Saxos great cars, Citroen cars are also the was to go!

I have had a Saxo VTR now for 2 months an everything has been fine... The owner before me said he had no problems except the odd thing nothing to much, if looked after these cars are great. Don't look after them and they will break an cost you money!

I own a 2001 Black Saxo VTR, And I must say I love this car to bits. Its just perfect first sporty car. Its small, Light, Really easy to drive and handles really really well. Insurance is cheap.
I was on a bypass a long straight road. Then I pulled off onto the country side and booted it round the corners, it stuck to the road like glue, its an amazing sporty little car. If you don't like Saxo's then fair enough!

I bought my 51 reg Saxo vtr 1.6 with 60000 on the clock. Its a great car I am 6ft 5 and I feel I fit in it fine. I owned a Seat Ibiza before the Saxo and well the Saxo would absolutley hammer it any day. Its quick its got a lot of what you want from a car. Oh and for all you that say its got standard interior. Mine came with leather fitted as standard.

A great car to buy but highly recommended for people who want to build a good handling street car, and is not too bad on insurance.

But overall brill car I'm still mad I have lost mine to this day due to a very poor woman driver in a 4x4

Chipped, mapped, port polished, balanced with racing light weight pistons, rockers, cams, induction kit, custom 4 exit exhaust, sports suspension and disk brakes all round. 16" rims cold typhoon air intake booster.

Not bored, still 1.6 back picks up like a 2.5l V6. Very nice!

This is a great car (pocket rocket) for the money you pay for one of these it's an amazing car, looks great, sounds great, and goes very well - will beat any silly boy -racer Corsa and Fiesta sort-of-car. I would recommend getting the slightly later version as they have the grey rocker cover and are roughly 10 bhp more than the black rocker cover VTRs. All together I think this is a great car and would recommend you buying one.

I brought my Citroen Saxo VTR about 3 weeks ago! It's absolutely amazing! I love it, it's so fast, considering I went from a 1.2 Corsa! It's so fast, it's so nice when other cars get up your rear and you just put your foot down and leave them standing when they least expect it! It's such a fun and exciting car to drive, it's like a real life Go-Kart! Jeremy Clarkson referred to it as a Rocket Powered Shopping Trolley! Now, it's up to you how you take that, good or bad, it still means it's pretty ...

I decided to write this review to get the truth out about the Citroen Saxo VTR. I have had mine for about 8 months now and the only thing that went wrong on it was the head gasket went, but after a few days it was back on the road again. I've been reading other reviews and alot of people saying it's not fast, if 0-60 in 8 seconds aint fast i dunno what is. I mean if you buy a high milage one that has had the engine thrashed then it wont be fast, but get a good low or average milage one, keep it ...

I love the Citroen Saxo VTR and everyone who has seen me drive it says I giggle like a school girl. It makes me happy
As for the bad reviews given, I think they have either been beaten off the lights by one or want one and cannot afford one.

I owned two of these Citroen Saxo VTR cars- a 1998 mk1 VTR and a 2001 mk2 VTR. I love the way it goes and having passed by test in a 1 litre Micra, the VTR seemed like a Skyline when I was 17. Now I actually do drive an R34 but I'm still a fan of the Saxo's styling which looks timeless on both the mk1 and mk2. Reliability isn't as bad as you are made to believe. There are faults with the car (ie- build quality) but the pros certainly outway the cons with this future classic.

I own a '98 Citroen Saxo VTR which I love so this review may be a bit biased. Firstly I'd like to comment on other peoples reviews. Apparently the car is not viable or practical if you are tall? Well I am 6' 4" and find it big enough. Also yes, most of them are owned by 'boy racers' but we're young and for most of us this is our first quick car. If I want to stick on a big bodykit and lower it so it won't go over speed bumps I will because it is my car and only me will have to live with it. Afte ...

I've had my Citroen Saxo VTR for about a month now, and it's sweet. I can finally take over people. As my old car was a 1.1 fiesta. I would Defiantly recommend getting one, you get some nice looks when you wheel spin it all around a corner an up the road. An eye catcher. Great car loads of fun, quite cheap, very fast, easily modified, you can't go wrong.
