    I stayed at Greenwoods Hotel Spa and Retreat last weekend- for a friends wedding and absolutely loved it!
    Our room was beautiful and the grounds are fantastic. My friend and I both booked treatments on Sunday and thought they were great (I would definitely recommend the body wrap!)

    The breakfast was lovely and we even decided to stay longer on our last day to have a swim and afternoon tea (the staff were really nice and said we could stay as long as we wanted!)
    I have already booked to come back for a spa day with my sister and am really looking forward to it!

    Booked a Greenwoods Hotel Day Spa experience for Mum's birthday at Greenwoods Spa. Unfortunately no treatments were available on the day so we settled for use of Spa and lunch only. The Hotel reception staff were friendly enough, however the Spa receptionist just handed over our robes with no further explanation of facilities.     Greenwoods is the worst spa in England. The treatments are rushed, staff rude, facilities not very good. Relaxation room is a joke! You cannot relax in such a small untidy room especially as there is not enough beds for people. I have to say when i took my mother for her 60th birthday spa day it was a total disaster. I would NEVER recommend the place.

    I booked a surprise one night stay at Greenwoods Spa Hotel, Essex, for my Hubby. I booked this lovely spa break through last minute.com 2 for 1 Deal. We both had a 20 minute back massage, 3 course dinner and a cooked breakfast on day of departure. unlimited use of the spa. Room service was good. Not too expensive.

    I would visit again but in the summer.

    We spent 2 nights at Greenwoods Hotel Spa and Retreat, Essex this month. I have to say we weren't expecting much as when I tried to book I was told no one could take my booking so I was to phone back. If we hadn't been attending a wedding I wouldn't have bothered. When I did get through and said we had a baby I was told they would have to check with the manager whether that was allowed and then was told, rather rudely, they had no cots and no baby facilities.     Greenwoods Hotel Spa and Retreat is like a Hilton, not bad at all, not boutique but then it doesn't sell itself as that and it is in a great location, easy to access from London but you really do feel out of the City.

    I would definitely stay there again but would prefer a package that didn't include dinner!

    Just returned from a overnight stay at Greenwoods Spa Hotel and Retreat, Essex with three other friends. Birthday treat from the 2 for 1 Deal on last minute .com, what a bargain, we paid £99.00 each (four of us went) Friday night to Saturday.     Greenwoods Hotel Spa and Retreat is a wonderful place to stay. Spa was very good and treatments were excellent. Staff were all very nice and could not do enough to help you. Food was excellent.

    Wow wow wow this place was beautiful exquisite food fantastic spa first class staff. My husband and I stayed at Greenwoods Hotel for the weekend 9th April we had a 2 for 1 deal which was so worth the money.
    Have recommended Greenwoods to so many people nothing was to much trouble,the owner changed our room because I have trouble with stairs as I walk with a stick he was so nice.
    Thank you all and we will be back soon.

    Following a recommendation from my boss, I bought my Mum a 3 day spa package at Greenwoods Hotel Spa and Retreat as a birthday present over the weekend. When we arrived we decided we were going to splash out because, although it was pricey, the location and building was beautiful with cheerful staff and spacious rooms.     As Greenwoods Hotel Spa and Retreat advertise spa breaks you would imagine at least some to be available - but no! And then the attitude of the Duty Manager when we asked to speak to someone about it was unbelievable. She twice alluded to the fact that because we'd booked through lastminute.com she didn't care if we were disappointed! I've written a letter of complaint, if I get a response I'll update this review.

    I booked a weekend away at Green woods before reading any of the reviews online, I was worried that I'd made a mistake and could have found somewhere better for the cost. However I was delighted with my stay and couldn't recommend it anymore. I will definitely be returning to Green Woods again and will be recommending it to all my friends.

    Friendly, polite staff were helpful throughout my stay.
    The rooms were clean and very much more than I was expecting considering the price I paid.

    We booked Greenwoods Hotel Spa and retreat in Essex for our magical wedding night. what a joke!After struggerling through the doors with my beautiful wedding gown on, gifts and bags the receptionist didnt even look up! congratulate me or my husband or even offer to help with our bags.     I boked a marquee at the hotel for August 24th 2008 and left the organisation to the events manager at Greenwoods Hotel. I could not have asked for a better venue, better food, or better care. It was pure magic. The rooms at the hotel were clean and very nice. Several guests had booked spa treatments and thoroughly enjoyed them. The pool is lovely and we had a great swim. This is definitely a place to recommend.

    We recently visited Greenwoods Hotel Spa and Retreat in Essex. The room was tired and awful, cluttered small, tiny wardrobe. We were attending a wedding nearby and couldn't hang our clothes up, toilet seat wouldn't stay up. Bath had no handles, making climbing over high sides to shower in a pathetic stream of water, very difficult. We had to repeatedly ask for more pillows as they were so sparse.     I have just returned home from this lovely break.The lastminute.com 2 for 1 deal was fantastic value for money and I have highly recommended this deal to my friends. 11th April 2008.
