Everyone wants to race one, and I mean from old people to kids in Corsas.

General comments: OK, had mine now for 6 months, previous car was a e36 3.0 M3 that the mrs still has.
The M3 is a great car, no one can argue with that so the Cosworth had to really give me something special to get on my good side.
The looks are just untouchable, nothing looks like this, its really special.
Interia is not the best but is still easy to use, and everything still works.
Seats hold you in with ease, nice and comfy, maybe a little bit too high up but great side bolsters.
I have had no problems with the car so far and unlike most owners, mine gets used every other day in all weathers, i feel this helps the car as putting it in the garage wraped in bubble wrap only causes things to go wrong.
OK my first drive really put a smile on my face, the Sound of these cars are just unbelievable, the turbo whistle, chatter and sucking of the filters is such a nice sound, i have never been in a car that makes this sound other than ford RS turbo cars.
The power is the old school woosh bang turbo so it can surprise you, but with the 4x4 and 8.5 inch wide front and back tyres means that spinning the wheels is virtualy unheard off, launching the Cosworth is not reccomended but have droped the clutch a couple times at 5000rpm and it really surprises you how it grips and goes, the 0-60 time in mine is just under 5 seconds which is good for a car with 270bhp.
The engine needs to be reved, the big turbo version needs revs to get the turbo going, once you start doing this the car will fly and surprise a lot of other makes and models.
All in all, the car is a thieves dream, insurance companys nightmare and a lads pride and joy
Everyone says scoobies and evos are so much better, but to be honest, there is not much in it, the Cosworth is a lot older and all the evo scoobie drives compare to the 12 + year old cossie which still holds it own against the new machines.
If you want a car that will put a smile on your face and everyone else's who sees the car, you will love this.

Take your time looking for a Ford Escort RS Cosworth. There's more bad than good. Avoid high owners, poor servicing record. Be sure to get an RAC check, this is a must! Get a good one and you'll never look back, get a bad one and you'll cry all the way to the bank. Parts are rare now and running costs are high. But no other car will make you feel as good and you'll have the world staring at you when you drive it! You have to be very careful where you leave your car, not all the attention it'll g ...

The Escort Cosworth is 1 of the most beautiful cars on the road.
It has blistering performance & they are easy to uprate at the right price the handling is great & the looks you still get when you go driving about in 1 is second to none.
To put it short the car is great & I recommend anybody who likes the look of the car to buy 1 you won't be disappointed.

I bought my Imperial Blue 1995 Ford Escort RS Cosworth in 2004. It was the best 17k I've ever spent. You knew when I'd been out in it as i was beaming from ear to ear. Everyone stopped and stared, children, old folk, EVERYONE! Definitely fit a bailey dump valve, you will see why when you do. All in all this car is the absolute BUSINESS!!!!

I thought the Ford Escort RS Cosworth was a good car--- I had a few occassions with coolant pipes bursting after ripping it but then upgraded to Samco hoses.

Practicality is only a 7 score because your always worried that someone is going to hit it in a car park etc.

Reliability is high as it was thrashed to hell and back and only broke down twice due to heat build up and some coolant pipes burst.

Value for money high as it brings a smile to your face.

The Ford Escort RS Cosworth has the looks and the power 2 beat any of these jap cars, they also have the looks to go with it. I have owned mine for about 5 years and I will not part with it for any price or other car. It is 400bhp and the only word I can say is that they are the best cars money can buy for looks and power.

The Ford Escort RS Cosworth is the best damn car I've ever had. It does get a lot of attention, always from blokes unfortunately!

It's a very practical car - hatchback - so can carry a lot of stuff.

Go for an early turbo (92-94) model with leather and aircon and it will hold its value forever. Only 2500 built and prices are only going one way - up!

In standard 227bhp form it's fast but not so driveable. I've got a 380bhp GGR conversion which is incredible. 0-60 in 4 secs 1/4 mile sub 13 ...

I have owned many Cosworths but this was my first Escort (My previous car was a 400bhp RS500).
I bought it in oct 2002 for £17000, the car wasn't standard as it had a GGR stage 2 tune to 310 BHP but I have since uprated it further to 385BHP.

I find the Escort Cosworth a pure drivers car, its excellent handling, brilliant driverbility and excellent reliability make it a great car to own.
Although it drinks fuel like no tommorow it is fantastic for motorway driving and also a very comfo ...

The Ford Escort RS Cosworth is a very fast car. It looks really sexy and most people that c them nearly alwayz sez that they want one:
A) because they are fast.
B) because they are sexy.
C) because they have got a turbo and dump valve

people that dont like these cars really do want shooting cuz they dont no wot there goin on about wen they say that they are horrible.

I waited from the day they came off the production line until a little under two years ago, to get mine, at a steal of a price,(Red,one owner,under 30k miles and in show condition), of £8k and would not part with her for double that amount or any other car in the world,and I mean any. Not many cars get the looks, no stares that the Escort RS Cosworth gets when it is on the road.

This was the best car I every had I had to sell it because not much room for baby gear in the boot (wot a mistake)selling the car not having the baby!!!
The car goes where you want it to and the power just keeps on coming
You have to be careful where you park it lots of bad people out there
I had the Imperial blue colour which I think stood out and looked great

You really have to experience driving a Ford Escort RS Cosworth to appreciate it's true abilities and to look past it's awesome looks. The car is relatively difficult to drive quickly when compared to the latest breed of Japanese WRC derived competition, but ultimately more involving and rewarding. Overall the balance is good with an slight tendency to oversteer on the limit, but the grip levels are so high that this trait doesn't show unless you are really pressing on or being wreckless!

The Ford Escort RS Cosworth is the most awsome car you can buy if you want people to stop and stare as you drive by- you can't beat them. Little kids know what is and ask to see the engine etc. It's an absolute legend.
