Good Points: It has one of the greatest interests in UK banks (7.00% AER fixed for a year). If you decide to close your account, you will get interest for the period you had saved the money equal with the rate of Variable Rate Halifax Web Saver (5% AER).
Bad Points: The worst customer service I have experienced in UK: when I authorized to open the account, the bank's staff made a "mistake" and they transferred twice the maximum amount (250 pounds) from my current account, while only one transfer should have happened. The second transfer was just ... LOST!!! I had to call the following day the branch and ask them what's going on. She asked for my phone number and called me after 20 minutes when she had refunded me the money!!! If I hadn't noticed, 250 pounds would be gone now... Just like that!
General comments: Save between £25 and £250 per month with Bank of Scotland Halifax Regular Saver. No withdrawals allowed. You can change the monthly amount you save whenever you want in branch, by phone or online (if you are registered for online banking).
