    Good Points: Looks great. Drives well.


    Bad Points: Hopeless reliability (147 2.0 Lusso). Serious oil problems. Engine needs replacing. Effective loss of £4000 in 18 mths.


    General comments: Beautiful looking and a great drive but a serious gamble if out of guarantee!

    Having owned this Alfa Romeo 147 2.0 TS Lusso for 3 months, I am nothing but happy with it. The most comfortable and good looking car I've had and for the money it cost it's a great car. It's quick enough and seems to do 30mpg, which is good for a petrol 2ltr, but hits the wallet a bit, cost about £60 to fill the tank. You get alot of car for your money, heated seats etc. compared to other cars, and it stands out from other hatches. All in all a good car.

    I'm a big fan of Alfa Romeo. I love all that Italian style and sophistication. Alfa really cracked it when they designed the 147 with that front grille harking back to the Alfas of old. Its become the template for all their new models. I've driven all sorts of cars but this is the one I've really taken to. I think its the mix of style and sportiness. OK I'd be happy enough in an A3 if I could find enough cash or in a VW Golf if I didn't mind every other car also being the same as mine but with a ...

    Alfa Romeo dealer are very unhelpful and rude. They offered no support whilst me and my fiance sat in the car for 4 hours waiting to be towed. The AA are just as bad, constantly sending the wrong vehicles to tow it.
