BEWARE OF AIR TRANSAT! Our experience has been TERRIBLE! We will never book another package through Air Transat and encourage our friends to boycott a company that has such little respect or interest in its customers. We booked a 7 day package six weeks before departure and four weeks before leaving, were informed that our 7 day package had been turned into a 6 day package. As well, we were told that our departure time from Mexico had been changed from 3 pm to midnight. We have four young children (8 and under) and traveling at that time would have been quite difficult. We contacted Air Transat through our travel agent as well as emailing the Air Transat President directly at jean-marc.eustache@transat.com. They would not honour our reservation at any other date; Basically, they did not care at all, offered NO REDUCTION in the price we had paid and just offered that we could cancel and get a refund. That option did not take into consideration disappointing 4 very excited young kids nor the expenses we had already incurred (e.g., $450 in travel insurance). We were left scrambling for another vacation package with another company. Air Transat vacation packages may sound great at the beginning but remember that what you buy is not necessarily what you get and your interactions with Air Transat staff will likely frustrate and disappoint you!

Attendant very rude and on the abusive and racial side, was sooo embarrassed by his behavior towards me I am considering going to Human rights! Air Transat could care less and have not returned my calls nor have they returned the payment we made for outbound seats that we did not get, their reply was "that's too bad as the flight is now full."
I will never fly Air Transat again or recommend them, not that they care anyway.- Read Guest's review (79 words)

We flew from the UK to Toronto in Club Class and were very impressed with the in-flight service and food. We are used to flying business class with BA, Air Canada, et al, but the don't even come close to the excellent customer service, and in some cases the quality of the food that we received on Air Transat.
Granted, the seating really is 'Economy Plus' as the seat pitch is only 35" however I'm over 6 Feet but found the seats sufficiently comfortable and was able to stretch my legs fully.

Nothing good to say about a company that is taking advantage of paid customer that have had their trips to Mexico cancelled due to the so-called epidemic. Air Transat ar asking for the difference even if you chose the same hotel at a later date and it is more money at that time. Royal Decameron in Pv would cost us 250 more each to go 1 day after our planned departure which was cancelled.
To change destinations ie: Cuba it would cost us 300 each for a hotel with less stars.- Read Mexalbetra's review (104 words)

The worst expereince of our life with Air Transat flying to Punta Cana. I paid advance $140 extra for my wife & myself for a selected preassigned seats which we did not get them for the inbound flight because we were bumped to different seats. My wife suffers from Claustrophobia and I have doctor's note on me. That's why we paid extra for seat selection. As a result of not getting our confirmed seats, my wife suffered anxiety attack and had to double up on her medication to calm her down. Since ...- Read shirazrm's review (139 words)

All i can say is the only bad thing about Air Transat is the lack of power outlets and Personal screens.I used to Fly AIR canada all the time between Manchester UK and Nova Scotia Canada, even in Economy class (which I flew only once) they had a power outlet and personal entertainment system.I always only fly Club class as the seats are too cramped in EconomyApart from that, hey got me to my destination in absolue comfort for a fraction of the price!I will always fly Air Transat whenever i can!

Air Transat is a budget airline with a very budget service. Appalling from start to finish. Pay the extra and fly with a decent airline because after my experience on Air Transat it'll be worth it.- Read GillC69's review (58 words)

I wouldn't fly Air Transat for free. Unless you are under 5 foot 1 or the flights under 4 hours. It's not worth the saviging. The legroom is unbearable and it take up to 20 minutes from the top of the ramp to your seat, because the plane is so packed.- Read Guest's review (53 words)

Unlike many reviews, Air Transat is a great airline. Be careful reading some of the reviews because they are dated 8 years back. I flew with them from Montreal to Brussels yesterday and I flew economy which I usually do not do and I never have flown Air Transat but I am glad I did. You will get the service that is exceptional!

On my flight there someone in my girlfriend's family died and upon arrival in Orlando I was already arranging a return flight. Choose air Canada because they were half the price and with only a 5$ cancellation fee, which was very reasonable, much more pleasant/accommodating staff as well as a timely and comfortable flight.- Read sfranklin's review (81 words)

I would not recommend this airline to anyone. I have had several poor experiences with them, and now happily fly with Zoom or Thomas Cook - neither of which are significantly more expensive, but have much better customer service. In particular, their treatment of my fragile cargo was awful - it came down with all the other items on the baggage carousel! Not worth the hassle.- Read elance's review (99 words)

Flew from Toronto to Gatwick. I've flown Air Transat several times and I know what the seating/planes are like. Because of this I will only fly in Club Class on Air Transat. The ecomony seats are just way too small and uncomfortable. The service is OK, but the priorty baggage service offered to club class passengers is hit and miss.- Read brewster69's review (91 words)

Having read reviews regarding Air Transat I was not looking forward to our flight to Toronto at all, which was going to be difficult enough with a five month old baby. However, the staff were more than helpful, everything was on time (in fact we landed 45 mins early on our return flight), the seat pitch was fine, I've certainly had worse, we did not find it uncomfortable at all, bearing in mind I am 5'9'' and my partner is 6'2'' traveling with a small baby on our lap.
I think Air Transat d ...- Read purplejane's review (117 words)

Some of the previous comments are a bit unfair on Air Transat. I would have thought that the price of the ticket would have left no-one in doubt that this is a budget airline and not to expect a "full service" experience as you'd get with Air Canada or BA.
Given the price of the ticket, the value for money and overall ratings are difficult to fault, and the good points (see above) definitely outweigh the bad points if your willing or have to suffer a bit of discomfort to save a few hundred qu ...- Read Charles Wayman's review (187 words)

This was an absolute nightmare for a couple of seniors on our first trip to Europe. Unlike the previous reviewer, buying an Air Canada flight home was not a financial option. Thank heavens that on the 4th April we had flown with Aer Lingus, Shannon to London and my wife saw what an excellent airline really was!
Air Transat staff at Gatwick were atrocious. When I blacked-out and collapsed over the baggage sizer whilst waiting to check-in, the staff did not even help my wife, even though I was bl ...- Read Tembo1's review (306 words)
