After being pilot in my cuz's 'nismo tuned' Pulsar, I waited until my 21st to locate a fresh standard import as these are low mileage and more reliable than some random blokes toy.

Although it came with a 5zigen exhaust, tein shocks and prodrive alloys it hadn't ever had the boost turned up... I have since fitted a few trick bits!

As far as reliabilty is concerned, every problem i encountered has coincided with my cousins, so I just put the problems down to the age of these cars rather than just being unreliable!!

The gtir is a rapid piece of mechano which if your age is right the insurance is as expected and fuel cost is purely down to the driver 100-220miles a tank!

The only thing I would suggest to future buyers is to investigate the clutch installed and speak to local mot centres and garages for fix costs as every owner will have to rebuild just about everything mechanical..

I had a choice: move out or keep the car- I kept the car! Nothing comes close!

ive had my Nissan Pulsar GTiRs for a couple of years now and they are all going strong. ive got one stock and one slightly modded and the third is modded for drag racing now there is some idiot on here saying that pulsars look dumb if ur over 19 ive been a mechanic for 10 years and would like to inform everyone that my stock pulsar would beat his gto hands down on the track and in a quarter mile i have that much faith in my knowledge of cars that i would bet pinks in a race. they are one of the ...

great hot hatch mines over 300bhp as 17 inch wheels rubs sometimes when driven hard. The Nissan Pulsar GTiR is not cheap to run but can now get classic insurance cars group 20 .will go up in price if kept as many are broken for parts ,fastest car i have driven tends to be hairy over 100mph and all cars rattle small price to pay for such a fun car, i liked them so much i have had two and rate them for looks, power and what car can you buy that is as fast for the money.

I have owned my Nissan Pulsar GTiR for only 2 months now and is starting too get the odd wear and tear, new radiator etc as with any other car if you look after it it'll go the distance, mines pretty stock standard at the moment but a recent blitz with a decked out mitsi evo proves that even stock standard it pulls some amazing power and destroyed it threw the 1/4 mile definitely a car you shouldn't under estimate, with the basic mods, e.g front mount, injectors, fuel pump. Good points are spee ...

Good for weekend fun but you'll need a ggod wallet to run as a daily driver, be carful with too much power it can lead down an exspensive road.

Great car just got one...yes it's a great car at 7psi....The previous owner had it at 14 psi but got scared...Gear box is definitely its weakest point. It is a real fun car. Handles great.
It has great potential... and should be cheaper to upgrade than an Evo. That Evo better be running way over 400hp.

Fast as heck lovley lil pocket rocket, there a time machine basically, you get to your destination before you leave with adrenalin running at 100% gr8, if you want to drive it hard make sure your pockets are deep, seats and interior comfortable.

Once you have owned a Nissan Pulsar GTiR HKS Edition you will understand why you should not buy a sports car over 1 of these. most of your sports cars cannot even compete with a GTiR especially with 400bhp+

I bought a last of the line 2001 HKS Edition GTI-R with optional "Greddy" tuning package. Standard power for these cars is around 220bhp, but mine rolled out of the factory with 400bhp on standard boost. To cope with the extra power I asked Nissan to fit a Nissan Skyline GT-R gearbox, which also means they had to modify the seating position.

The standard clutch is doing fine so far, and I'm finding the standard breaks to be brilliant. I'm still not sure what oil I should be using, but a frien ...

My Pulsar had everything done to it: lightened balanced bottom end, HKS piston, cams, uprated brakes, Suspension 17 wheels, Nismo Dog Box and Nismo rear diffuser. I was running 380bhp (no joke) I raced my mate's Lamborghini and had him up to 100mph (and I mean off the line) I was away and at 103 when he started catching. Any Pulsar with 320bhp or more - nothing on road will touch it (except from the bike and the odd kit car). Also, my pulsar was all stripped out so it was light as a feather, wh ...

Fast as factory standard car! 0-60, 5.5sec. Once you break the 5 second 0-60 barrier (which is easy with slight tuning) expect to break something expensive. Once an engine rebuild has been done expect 50,000+ miles of fun. I'd advise staying close to standard performance.
    Insurance is huge! Group 20!
Petrol, I'm doing about 170 miles per tank! ~17 miles per gallon!

I have never had a Nissan Pulsar GTiR HKS Edition but I've been in quite a few, and they're pretty quick for a small car.
But if you treat this car with respect, it will munch any car on the road, well except it's father(Skyline GTR a.k.a the Godzilla) because the GTiR are well known as baby Godzillas.

I like the pulsar, I had one for a year, handled like dump, was pretty quick, then I grew up. If your over 19, trust me, you look silly driving it. If you're 17-19, you look like the man. if you are over 19.... not good! I'm 21 now, I've bought a GTO.....

I own a 93 Nissan Pulsar GTiR HKS Edition Sports Car, so far it has embarrased every car who thought it could beat me, the list includes, Subaru s.t.i's, Evo6's, Sierra Cosworths and a Carrera :D, she handles like a dream and flys round corners like a goal cart, she averages 0-60mph in approx 4.4 secs, with 320 bhp crammned into a hatchback nothings touching you lol :D

I have just aquired a 91 Nissan Pulsar GTiR HKS Edition and to be honest I haven't had such a fun car to drive, Power when you want it but also can be driven very tamely.
It will blow off most cars on the road, the only thing that gave me a problem was a GTR Skyline, which really brought me down to earth
