I am an ex airline Managing and Commercial Director so have some idea what to expect.

The Very Good: Thought Canadian Affair booking system was excellent, check in fine, service on board great and Thomas Cook crews a credit to the airline. Price was a great deal and for what I paid overall very impressed.

The OK: Food was adequate rather than really excellent, seating comfortable rather than great but still quite acceptable 35" seat pitch.Super blankets ( sit on them makes the seat so much better)

The Not So Good: Aircraft cabin was very dated, In Flight Entertainment next to useless and take your own headphones because the TCX ones are just a joke. Priority baggage is fine but without priority offloading of passengers in premium a bit pointless.

Overall: A job well done and great value at the price we paid.

I am still indispute with Canadian Affair over the alterations they made to my pre-booked seats.
Booked and paid in full in Nov 2008, confirmed (after a lot of hassle) on May 6, then altered on May 29.

Their Managing Director, Anette Rayner, "refutes the suggestion that somewhere between your booking and travelling we changed your seats".

Amazing, and I have the invoices to prove it!

The seats were altered again at check-in because "Thomas Cook altered the aircraft for operational reasons on ...

Truly awful company. Never booked through this company but heard from a family member that it is quite cheap. Let me just say I didn't have high expectations from a low-cost airline but they totally let us down.

Flight on time? No it was a 13 hour delay.

Customer service? A joke. The guy who worked the desk at Gatwick was a total joke. Yelling at us when we were inquiring about the delay and what the issue was. Totally unapologetic, unsympathetic and a complete waste of space. Flight a ...

I asked when booking with Canadian Affair whether their premier economy was a genuine premier economy and was assured it was. After arriving in Canada I called their customer service and explained their service was not comparible with other major airlines. This was escalated to their customer services. To top it off they changed the flight on the return to go via Edmonton taking it to a 13 hr flight. I am fighting to get my money back.

I am currently in dispute with Canadian Affair. I booked reserved seats, for my wife and self, on the front row aisle/window in November 2008; arguably the best seats in the cabin. We were told that the booking desk at Manchester opened 2 1/2 hours before departure and arrived 1 1/2 hours before the flight. On arrival at Manchester we were informed that we had been allocated the last 2 seats on the flight in the central 3 configuration block and well apart from each other. I am 78 and my wif ...

I've flown with canadian affair over 12 times, flying again at the end of this week! - their flights are always comfortable, and service before flights always very helpful. Ive found booking flights easy and comprehensive, especially with their inclusion of all taxes in the prices they provide you with. Every time i have had a query about the flights or had a problem, i have emailed and had a quick response - sometimes within 30 minutes! Over all Canadian affair offer an amasing quality service, ...

Saw a lot of negative reviews so was a bit wary but turned out alright. Booked 6 months in advance and pre-booked seats.Flight time was altered but plenty of warning so no problem. Both ways on time, check-in fast and efficient, got the seats I booked, legroom ok, luggage retrieved quickly so all pretty good. All the staff from check-in to flight crew were friendly and helpful so all in all it was a pleasant experience, I would certainly recommend Canadian Affair to a friend.

Worst flight ever, pre booked wheel chair, what an uproar had to fight for this basic neccesity for my mother. Then pre booked vegetarain meal, NOT avaiable, also other passangers too ( take own picnic) we also made them aware that we do NOT eat BEEF, were told that they manly serve chicken for non vegis but lone be hold they were serving beef, so 3 adults and my 3 very young children went with no food on a 9 hr 45 min flight. Thats not all, when we arrive in Vancouver no wheel chair on that e ...

Pre book seats....pay extra to upgrade.........what a load of rubbish. Doesn't matter if you do prebook and pay extra....you are more than likely not going to get what you paid for. Do Canadian Affair care? NO THEY DON'T!!! Beware of this and do not listen to their assurances beforehand. You wont know until you are on the plane.

Manchester to Calgary June 19th 2009, flight times changed 3 times. Check in staff at Manchester friendly, we had pre booked seats, no problems there. Leg room in cabin o.k., cabin crew o.k.,food dreadful and drinks very expensive. We had been warned about the food and packed a picnic.
At check in for our return on July 3rd. was informed my husband was on the flight manifest but I was not. Ground staff eventually found me a seat on the plane. We had pre booked seats for the return flight, but o ...

No problems at all with the booking or flight, despite other poor reviews it is difficult to fault the service provided. The Canadian Affair flights were on time, even landing early and the attendants were very good.

I booked 5 months in advance directly with Canadian Affair and paid the extra fee to pre-book my seat. Yet when I arrived at the check in 3 hours early I was told the plane was overbooked and I didn't have a seat since I had been randomly selcted. I had to wait until everyone boarded to No apology was made. They put me up in the the most questionable hotel (I literally had to call reception to have someone open all compartments since thedorr didn't even lock). rude staff. unhelpful. worst exper ...

I have used Canadian Affairs for flights to Canada twice a year for the past 5 years, and once a year for a number of years previous. One time I have used them to book a flight with Canada 3000, which went under. Fortunately Canadian Affair was insured and they arranged for a substitute BA flight for a nomimal extra charge. Had I booked with Canada 3000, I might have lost the entire fair for 2 people. I have never been significantly delayed, I am extremely pleased with the service I have re ...

Tried to ' bump off' my sister when we arrived at the airport, a pensioner travellling alone. Next available flight was two days away. The Canadian Affair rep wasn't wearing an identification and when we asked her name told us she was not obliged to divulge this information! Obviously very proud to be working for such a caring company! Extremely unhelpful at all levels. Have been in constant communication with the company from customer services to managing director since October 2008. They ha ...

Canadian affair flights were fine, on time and clean and comfortable seats. BUT do not book cr hire via website, the descriptions of cars is totally wrong, we paid £490 for a large 4 x 4 7 seater with luggage space for suitcases, when we arrived to collect car it had no luggage space whatsover, you can ony have luggage if used as 5 seater !! SO we had to ahve another car which was cheaper and not 4 x 4, not good in snow ! They know the website is wrong but refuse to change it

Canadian Affair would not allow me to pay in full at the time of booking, did not contact me with a confirmation (as is required per their terms and conditions). They stated that I would not be able to pay the full amount until they contacted me. I contacted them 7 weeks before my flight asking why they hadn't contacted me for full payment and was informed that my trip had been canceled and my deposit was forfeit. They then proceeded to state that many emails had been sent and that other mean ...

How I wish I had seen this site before booking with Canadian Affair. It seems our experience has been shared with many others before - time of flight changed (not informed), date changed (not informed, had to find out from brochure), aircraft changed, paid for extra leg room when flights first out and these taken from us with no refund being offered and only after many emails and fruitless telephone calls and letter to Head Office were we told we could have SOME of our party in extra leg room s ...

We have had our 17 day trip to Banff reduced to 14 days because of the cancelled Saturday flights. Strangely our direct flight to Calgary on Wed 7th Jan from Manchester now seems to take 12.5 hours instead of 8.5 hours. Canadian Affair offered 3 different reasons for this on 3 different occasions:1) They are not sure of the weight of the aircraft so that is the maximum time it could take. However it would seem they are sure of the aircraft weight on the return journey which takes just 9 hours. ...

Over 20 people have booked flights and accommodation with Canadian Affair as I am getting married in February. Originally booked from Manchester to Calgary.[1] Return flight changed from Monarch to Thomas Cook - no problem[2] Outbound flight changed from Manchester to Calgary to Gatwick to Calgary. I had a feeling this might happen as I read something on a website about this. I rang CA and asked if the flight was still going from Manchester. They said yes. We only found it that it actually was g ...
