I havent used my devise for +- 6 months and did not want to turn on.called support and was advised if the device is not used for a long period of time,it will "die",the customer will then have to get it repaied by Tom Tom and the customer must fit the bill, never heard such nonsense in my life,PLEASE BE AWARE BEFORE YOU BUY THIS PRODUCT,I WILL NEVER BUY A TOMTOM EVER.

Drain on battery when not in use. Battery only lasts around 15 minutes when in use. Fitted a new battery but still the same. Now it can take up to ten minutes to find satellites, even after updating via website. Loses satellites when driving. Would not buy another TomTom.

I've had the Tom Tom One Europe now for a couple of years, and it has simply been a lifesaver! I use it quite regularly and it gets me from A to B 99% of the time without any problems. You'll always come across new roads that the Tom Tom doesn't recognise, but you can't help that as new roads are built everyday.

The speed camera notifications are very useful, especially if you're driving through unfamiliar territory. I've even taken it through some very remote towns and villages in France, a ...

I bought my Tom Tom in a hurry because I found out that my Sony sat nav didn't cover Spain, despite being a 'Europe' model. I chose the 'One Europe' because it was the cheapest model I could find from a well known brand that covered Spain.Using it has been a pleasent surprise. It's nice and small, does almost everything I expect of it and a few things I didn't.The voice instructions are clear, but I did find a couple of occaisions when it failed to deliver an instruction on-time, or at all. T ...

I have owned the TomTom WE for two weeks so at this point cant comment on durability. But so far its been fantasic and navigated me to locations that would have taken me ages to find. I am very much into technology (ICT Professional) and this bit of kit has been the most impressive purchase ever.

Ok but my phone is probably beter and cheaper. The holder falls off your screen, and it struggles to find a GPS signal meaning on many occasions I have missed a crucial turn off or driven dangerously trying to pick it up off the floor! Also loses a charge quickly and only comes with an in car charger.

Changes it's preferences all by itself e.g sound just goes off - bit tricky if it's the speed camera alerts - which you then miss.
Controls not logical. Not very accurate, normally 200 to 300 metres out.
Cradle falls off the windscreen with monotonous regularity.
Won't find some obvious POIs e.g long term car park at Gatwick!
Better sat navs available for less money - don't touch it. Mines heading for the bin and I'll try again - but not with tom tom.

Very clever but not very useful. Very difficult to use the map when looking at the route and that's important as it is often easy to enter the correct destination. Map download doesn't work (as discussed on a lot of the forums) so my new device doesn't have some roads that have been built for over two years!
Sorry TomTom but mine's going back as it is also broken!

If you already have the v6 european maps for Western Europe DO NOT purchase v7 - it is a retrogarde step. Some roads and road layouts that were correct on the old map seem to have changed to the layouts that were in operation in 2005 and the new roads that opened very late in 2006 are not actually on the new(?) maps. I believe this is a complete waste of money. Tom Tom quote that by 'downloading' or opening the plastic box that conatins the card you have accepted their terms.

I find the Tom Tom One easy to use. Idiot [or me] proof. Small and fun. Laugh at her when she tells me I must turn round when I have decided to take a different route with out clearing it with her... but you can clear it with her by choosing alternative route at any time.. when you are stopped. I do love it.

You don't have to stay away from the Tom Tom product, just do not use their update disk - which probably means no updates ever.

Don't know how the Tom Tom One compares with other sat nav's, but the bad points outweigh the good ones for me. It might be light enough to carry and the screen is bright, but it can take a long time to acquire satellites and is not always accurate.

I haven't used other brands, so not sure if these problems occur with other brands as well. In all it disappointed me a little, as it fell below expectations.

This little device brought the terms 'light and small' back to TomTom's sat nav devices. It's portable, easy to use, and there's add-ons.

There are voices that you'll hear when there's a left turn ahead, what exit to take on the motorway, or when you're going the wrong way. Basically, it's just like someone with a high-tech map beside you telling you where to go. You can download new voices, like John Cleese.

There's also a feature called TomTom Plus which tells you about traffic up on you ...

After two weeks, my TomTom One Europe developed a mind of its own. On one trip it switched the voice off, by itself, a couple of times, and then changed into Slovenian. When I tried to enter a town name, it kept inserting the letter 'j' into the text - It kept doing this over several trips. All of this is a bit upsetting and potentially dangerous and of course you cannot access help unless you have bluetooth.
My email for help elicited the reply to delete some maps. I suppose it comes down to b ...

Very good and very compact, easy to use, durable, I dropped it on the ground and it's still working fine.
