  Good Points: The Activator gives you a close shave, and it has the cleaning system that is real good.

  
  

  Bad Points: In some difficult areas on your neck it is hard to get a good shave.

  
  

  General comments: I have owned the Braun Free Control, the Cruzer 3, and the Braun Activator 8595 gives the best shave. Sometimes you have to pay good money in order to get a good shaver that will do the job right. I would recommend this shaver to anyone, and it is a lot better than using a shaver.

  I have used electric shavers for 48 years (about 15,000 shaves). I have used a variety of shavers but Braun have always been the least effective. I keep trying them thinking they will improve. I bought an Activator 12 months ago and I wish I'd reurned it straight away. The cleaning system is expensive to run and a 'gimmick'- the alchohol evaporates very quickly - and the shaver takes at least twice as long as my old Remington to get a smooth shave. Sorry Braun.

  I am 20 years old and I have used every kind of razor there is and everything gave me bad razor burn. So I decided to go a Braun Activator and it's been the smartest thing I have done.

  I'm 17 and I hate shaving. I hate having facial hair... and I hate razor burn... I'm screwed for life apparantly. The Braun Activator sucks, especially considering it was $200 bucks!
  
  Well I know the price has gone down and its a lot cheaper at wallgreens or wherever... the sharper image store is more of a rip off.
  
  Anyways I have the hardest time gettin a smooth shave and when I used a regular razor I got razor burn, so I thought 'oh this has the foil that gets hair in all directions.' Scre ...

  Braun Activator - This is my first electric shaver in over 20 years. I have thick, wirey facial hair and had given up electric shavers for the razor. Recently, I was using a new vibrating razor, but it would cut my face every so often. I did some research about the Braun electric shavers, the Sychron and the Activator. The Activator appealed to me because of the unique foil design. The new shaver comes with a warning that it would take 2 to 3 weeks for my face to condition to electric shavers ...
