    Bad Points: Some plastic noises (after 12 year...).


    General comments: Fiat Brava 1.8 ELX. Above all reliability: 12 years (165 000 km) with nothing but predictable wear. Good performance, resonable space and confort. Nicest looking compact for several year.
    Overall a simple but very good car - still actual after 12 years (Brava 1.8 ELX).

    I picked up a 1998 Fiat Brava 1.8 ELX 16v model at a used car lot for £800 in Nov 2006. At the time it had 58,000 on the clock.
    Heres my expenses in that time :
    Jan 07 - New Full Exhaust £230 (Usual wear and tear)
    Feb 07 - MOT - New front Break Pads/Disc's/Shoe's - £180 (Usual wear and tear)
    Nov 07 - Replacement Rear Driverside Door Handle - £6
    Feb 08 - MOT - Replacement CV Boot - £52 (Usual wear and tear)
    So....the mileage now has 72500 and it runs as smooth a ...

    I own a Fiat Brava 1.6sx 100 and have had it for 2 years with no problems always starts first time can be fast if you push the gears, its good on the motorways and around town in country lanes goes where you point it one of the best cars i have owned.

    I really like this car. Had no problems with it at all. The performance is good if you work the gears well, looks good, plenty of room and very comfortable.

    Lots of features, including aircon, abs, airbags, electric windows, electric sunroof, alloys, rear wiper and washer, headlight washers and front foglights.

    Comfortable ride on the motorway, a nice size around town and for parking.

    A thoroughly decent car.

    Despite these niggling problems, this second hand Fiat Brava 1.8 ELX car drives like a dream, cruises down the motorway with ease and transports 4/5 people comfortably. Loads of boot space and the seats drop to create a cavernous volume for small removal jobs or trips to the garden centre. At just less than 90,000 miles, this car is as reliable as the first day it was taken off the forecourt.
