    I have a '55' registered VW Transporter T5. It is fairly good looking, but one massive problem with it is that it doesnt hold half as much as it should. I think the interior is a bit bland, but as it is a van I am not expecting much anyway. I like the toughness of the vehicle and I think it is good for speed, but I think it is a bit underpowered as it is only a 1.9 TDi. At least a 2.1 I think.

    I have the Volkswagen Transporter 104bhp 1.9 td T5, I have this a few years now and have 99K miles on it, only problem was a broken drive which was replaced under warranty, I have always used a private garage to get my servicing done, I cant afford these main dealer prices. I brought it back the main dealer to get the cam belt service at £75K miles. Its quick enough and frugal and I like it alot, the driving position is excellent, you can make the seat height go up or down tilt forward or ...

    this Volkswagen Transporter 85PS 1.9TDI is the worse van i have ever had it is noisy and not very relibaile at best and all the faults start at around 40k like droped valves startersmotors ' flywheel 'cluch slave cyl ' suspention ' wheel bearings and many more vw said that i am carrying to much and and pushing it to hard thats whay my van is playing up so i said to them so you can not fill it with stuff and drive it accross the country then! the van has never been overloaded ...

    The Volkswagen Transporter 85PS 1.9TDI is comfy and looks good for a van. It's easy for long drives. The firm seat is great for my back ,it's my fourth transporter starting form the 1979 model. The strange thing about driving them all is the first was the best. High roof for full trade racks as Im under 1800mm 6ft it's a problem if you use it for material transport ,my mates vito is a lot lower! .when it was first bought it would stall a lot for no real reason I thought it was me and my driv ...

    At 45k miles the fly wheel came off and went through the engine sump, destroying the clutch in the process. The vw dealership had to replace the starter motor (as they killed it trying to find the fault), the sump, the fly wheel and the clutch. (all fixed under warranty). This is an increasing common problem as the number of t5 vans increase.
    At 50k miles a sensor failed on the cam shaft, Layerthorpe VW quoted me £375 to replace the sensor. I bought a sensor from them for £27 and a f ...
