    Having read through the other reviews of Downe Health Spa on these pages, in light of my recent experience, it seems that the spa only offers good customer service if no problems arise. However, if they do, a very money-grabbing and poor service attitude raises its ugly head! I am writing with such disappointment - I recently left work (based at a London office) to begin maternity leave at home in Devon. As a kind gift, my colleagues purchased a £40 voucher for me from Downe Health Spa. However, as I live on the other side of the county and have no personal transport I have no way of taking up this gift. By public transport it would take me 3-4 hours each way to get to the Spa. As such, I asked if it might be possible to refund me the voucher amount to use at a spa closer to me. However, this has been pointedly and rudely refused with Downe Spa saying that they need to keep the money to cover administration costs (of sending me an email voucher, I assume - given that I have received nothing in the post). I would definitely not recommend the spa given the rudeness of its owners over email and on the phone. I feel very strongly that they have stolen the gift that my colleagues so kindly bought for me.

    My daughter and I had a lovely pamper day at Downe Health Spa and I am very much looking forward to going again.If I could afford it I would go every week.The treatments we had were excellent and really did leave me feeling like I had had a special day.We went on a cold snowy day but it was so lovely and warm in the spa and quite something looking out of the window at the snow.I did hope we might have got snowed in but no such luck.We had a fabulous lunch and a cream tea at the end of the day.I ...

    We searched the internet for somewhere to fit the bill for a relaxing, enjoyable, easily accessible location to hold my daughters hen day. Downes was perfect. I really could not fault the entire day, we were given good information well in advance for everything we neeeded to know before the day. On arrival we could park our cars in a safe place, strolll over to the spa where we were met by a charming member of staff who left us to relax with coffe, tea, cold drinks and biscuits!!     I would stongly recommed a pamper day to anyone who lives within the area or if your on holiday in north devon as it is a lovely relaxing and rejuvinating day. I enjoy it so much that i have booked a celebration day next year for my hen party, so we are very much looking forward to that although i have no doubt that we will be there before that day for another girls treat!

    I received a friendly, professional greeting with services to match. The products utilised during my pamper day worked and I left the spa feeling relaxed, well looked after, it far exceeded my expectations. I would recommend to all ages.

    We feel very badly treated by Downe Health Spa gave debit card details as a deposit before treatment decided. Owner debited my bank account for full amount, after we had to cancel Spa day as dates clashed. Owner refused to give any compensation or altenative dates and refused to send any details on cancellation policy. The owner just said we had a gruff tone when cancelling and has decided to keep the full amount from us!
