    I have owned this camera for more than three years. I have no desires to upgrade this camera, as it is already very sophisticated and feature-packed. Occassionally, I will bring my other SLR (Canon Elan IIe) with me (along with G2) just because it allows me to zoom in my objects with 300mm telepho ...

    This is my first digital camera and I was amazed when I saw the first shot. I've upgraded to the 10D now and passed the G2 onto my wife.

    I can't begin to express my frustration and disappointment. My 2mega pixel Canon shoots better pictures. It's hit and miss with quality, mostly being miss!

    The real killer is you CAN NOT update their firmware...meaning no updates.

    I have a couple of Canon 35mm SLR's and a stack of lenses and accessories, so perhaps the choice of the Canon Powershot G2 for digital is not so suprising... except this is not one of those with interchangeable lenses, so it was selected entirely on it s own merit.

    I bought the Canon Powershot G2 with the 1GB Microdrive at the beginning of October. It's a terrific combination which allows the camera's remarkable abilities to be fully exploited.
