    The original hard hitting xmas song that is not full of syrupy Cliff Richard type lyrics.

    Well, it's a traditional Christmas song already. I bought this back in 1987 I think it was, and it gets better and more relevant every time I hear it. Miles better than Slade!     The Pogues, Fairytale of New York is a really good Christmas tune and it really gets you into the Christmas spirit, and because of the sad loss of Kirsty McColl, I think it should get to number one for Kirsty! I'm going to buy it!!!

    It really doesn't get more sublime than The Pogues, Fairytale of New York - easily the best christmas record ever. I intend to buy about 40 copies because this is easily the greatest ever Christmas song and by the way, its been put back a week to the 19th December for Release - the day after the 5th ...

    The Pogues, Fairytale of New York has been re-released for this year and I will be the first one in the queue at my local HMV to buy it. I prey to high heaven that this is the Xmas number one this year because it's brilliant and has the 'Christmassy factor' - yes Christmassy is a made up word.
