    We just started replacing all our figure 8 rapelling devices for Black Diamond ATC's, people just love it, they are easy to use, easy to stop, easy to block, and economic.

    Can use double rope all the time with no problem.Less heavy than the figure 8, similar price.

    What else can we expect?

    Ive been using the Black Diamond ATC belay device on a recent rock climbing course and found it to be really simple and effective. I have used a number different belays, including single ones but this is good for any climber really. Its cheap and basic. Pretty much everything you need for a beginne ...

    Black Diamond's ATC belay device is simple yet effective. I've tried a variable friction belay, and I didn't find any real advantage over the standard ATC.

    Simple and effective - no wonder it's popular!
