    This is an appalling camera, and has to be the worst digital camera ever. We bought it because of the famous name 'Pentax' and it's reputation for SLR quality cameras.     Would never buy a Pentax again

    Standard AA batteries won't last 5mins. You need to get 2500Ni-CD 0r Ni-MH ones and they last much longer - about 40/50 shots I guess.

    Not sure. I have had Pentax cameras for many years and they have been excellent and almost trouble free, but I think build quality has dropped, but then it has with all makes unless you pay a high price!     This would no doubt be an acceptable camera but for the number of shots you get from perfectly decent batteries. One to avoid.

    Beware of the Aiptek Pentax Optio 50 - battery life is non existent even when the camera is switched off a full set of batteries (mAh2500) will discharge completely over night. You can only get 30 or 40 photo's out of a set of batteries in a day in normal conditions. Pentax tell me that they have 't ...
