We needed a higher performance hosting company for our business. 1&1 looked promising with their glizty marketing material talking about their high availabilty, investment in data centres and 99.9% availability . The 50 quid google adwords voucher was a nice hook too.

OneAndOne host and domain registrar is very poor in quality and customer support, I do not recommend it to anyone.

OneAndOne - Bought a domain name from them but they won't allow it to be transfered or used by another hosting company!! So I can't use it now, and I won't use them to host ever, absolutely rubbish.

Don't touch 1and1. One word for them RUBBISH! They can not get anything correct, the SSL is sham, they have very poor un-trained service people, they are just plain old RUBBISH. They may be cheap but by the time you have spent correcting their mistakes it pays to go somewhere else.

Twice, OneAndOne have locked my account, supposedly because the card details I specified were wrong. On both occasions, the card details were correct and it has taken an awful lot of hassle to get my email/site working again.
