    Hitachi TV Model 37LD8500 requires two inverter boards (quoted £571) £100 more than purchase price. Hitachi UK service stated that parts can fail at any time (22 months use) and offered an insurance cover for £289 for this repair and the next 12 months which in my humble opinion ...

    18 months later it stopped working, the main circuit board was faulty. It will cost £450 to completely replace the circuit board: Hitachi sent me a letter confirming that "due to the age of the television" (18 months?) they will not assist in the repair.
