Had Flymo for 8 years before motor gave up; wanted a light mower that would leave stripes; thought Qualcast would be OK - but very disappointed: took ages to construct the collection box and then found that it only collects the grass if blades kept low - not practical with my rough and often damp la ...

Purchased a Qualcast Elan 32 at the beginning of the season, have had qualcast mowers in the past but this is the worst mower ever made. It does not cut, it drops grass all over the lawn, it hasn't got the power to mow the grass if you have to miss a week. I will never buy another qualcast again I h ...

I think this Qualcast Elan 32 mower is not as good as it seems to be. It is quite weak and does not provide a 'clean cut'. My neighbour has an old Qualcast cylinder model, and judging by the finish her rusty one gives, her lawn looks alot better than mine and this is by using a blunt one! It is good ...

worst mower I have ever owned and I've been cutting grass for fifty years. The cutter bar was bent from new and I could not adjust the blades properly. Very awkward to assemble the grass box due to poor flimsey plastic. Cable not long enough to cut a lawn without using an extension lead..
    not the ...

This Qualcast Elan 32 was purchased solely to replace my 23 year old Concorde RE25 DL mower. Last month (Apr 2009) the Concorde RE finally broke for good. I couldnt believe it but when I last used it, one of the metal blades physically snapped off and the cylinder would not spin! Although it had ser ...

The Qualcast Elan 32 was purchased since my old Panther 30 became rusty and old with age. Plus thinking that the electric Elan would help by being much quicker to use although I was disappointed. Under the machine unit, where the blades are, there is a steel plate which by the instruction leaflet, i ...

I used the Qualcast Elan 32 for a couple of years then saw sense and replaced it with a superb Bosch Rotak that made me realise what I was missing. Feeble motor gave up when trying to mow long-ish or damp grass. Grassbox needs emptying too often. Cable tidy and power cable holders keep dropping off. ...

This Elan is the third or fourth Qualcast mower I have owned and used and without a doubt I would say the poorest by far. A cheap machine at an expensive price.

Have had quite a few Qualcast mowers over the years and am now of the opinion that the Qualcast name is no longer the guarantee it was. Very disappointed and do not recommend this model. Fixed bottom blade seems to have made contact with the cylinder blades resulting pieces have been notched in one ...
