The Brother Colour 1820C is Great when it goes but - can anyone tell me how to fix it when Error 41 comes up please? And, what exactly is error 41? Can't phone them as it costs $3.95 a minute to speak to anyone there and I refuse to pay for what should be customer service! . May have to chuck ...

Brother Multifunction machines are cheap - because they must make huge amounts on the ink.If you absolutely must buy this machine - use cheapo ink as I don't think using their own ink makes the slightest jot of difference when you get the famous Error 41 (Print head dead - though it works just fine ...

The newer machines are nice. I like the 1820c the best. I mainly send and receive black and white copies. I like the option of color if I want to copy photos. I print the photo from my computer and make additional copies on my fax machine. This is a replacement machine. The other exact model had a ...

Easy to use, but no backup or support. Ours has just developed an Error 41 but we don't know what that means.

Will never buy this model again Error 41 a main problem, when contacting a brother dealer, they wanted to send an engineer at an extortionate price cheaper to buy a new unit from a different manufacturer, I would avoid this model!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find that the Brother Colour 1820C consumes vast quantities of ink due to a clean cycle brother have installed.
With the machine being barely 2 years old, error 41 has appeared on the screen requiring technical assistance which costs more for an engineer to come out than the machine itself. I wou ...

My advice is - Do not buy a Brother Colour 1820C! Mine has gone wrong (error 41)after 3 years of only light use, it is not apparently worth repairing, and I will switch manufacturers because of this bad experience.

I would STRONGLY urge all future consumers NOT to purchase a Brother Fax 1820C. It's nothing but trouble.

It eats expensive ink - Brother has set this up so that it uses ink all the time on the unnecessary cleaning cycle. What a brilliant money making wheeze for them. Run a mile from the Brother Colour 1820C fax machine, as it is an absolute money pit.
