I don't understand why poeple rate this Donkey so highly. I got mine in 2003 and within 2 yaers the motherboard failed comppetely I had to throw it away because it was cheaper to buy a new one. E machine is simply a budget brand full stop.

My system can handel any task I throw at it. I have upgraded many parts on it. and it is the perfect computer for gaming, video editing, and audio editing.
THINGS I'VE UPGRADED-
Western Digital 80GB slave.
2GB Samsung PC-3200 Ram(Dual Channel).
Diamond 7.1 24bit sound card.
EVGA_ GeForce 6200, 400M ...

If you are a power friendly user than it can still be the right pc for you. It can upgraded in many ways. RAM can be upograded to 2GB. For aprox. 60-75 dollars. The eMachine T1840 is a good, functional, solid machine for a very attractive price. We have run everything from games to custom software and, with the exception of the low RAM, it goes along like a trooper.

Felt I had to comment on the emachines T1840 PC for the amazing fact that it's the first PC in years that I've bought that worked straight out of the box. And not just worked. It had to be linked into a network, set up with network printers, adding various USB interfaces and I just plugged it all ...
