I used to have a Dell Latitude which was a bit long in the tooth and bought the Acer Travelmate 244 as a replacement in May 2004. The Acer Travelmate 244 is a quality laptop at a budget price of £499.99 online £549.99 from comet stores ps/2 ports may have helped as touch pad is a little temperamental but 4 USB slots can be used instead. Good all round at a price you are not scared to carry about outside.
