Two diners had a board special- lamb something or other £12.95. Person behind bar was utterly ignorant, after taking my order for a drink he answered the phone and proceeded with a conversation completely ignoring me. I walked out and will never return.

The Chef and Brewer was very very bad...
i hated it and will never go again
the service there is cheeky and very mouthy to me
i ask for some tomato sauce and the waitress shouted at me because she could be asked to go back into the kitchen and get it!

i have been going to this pub for 30 years on and off but i will not be returning for another 30 years i have just had a meal in there and food and service would have been better in a kennel.

Chef & Brewer is a very attractive pub/restaurant with a good restaurant. Nice area to sit and eat or drink outside in the garden. It is, unfortunately, let down by the disappointing vegetarian options which would mean I would be unlikely to eat here again for a while.
