    Sony was known for it's reliability, and I was prepared to pay a little extra for the piece of mind of purchasing a product with a long term lifespan.
    I went out and bought a Sony TV, surround sound system and a VCR. Within 12 months my VCR processor failed (repaired under warranty). 12 months late ...
