    BEWARE of the cost of policy cancellation!!!!I have changed vehicle recently and bought a Japanese "Grey Import".     I have had my car insurance with halifax since 2002, and have checked comparison sites at every renewal but never find a better deal.

    The guy I spoke to at the claims department was great and very helpful put me at ease after I had an accident.
    I found the service I recieved was very good, helpful I would reccomend them.

    Accident in November (other drivers fault). Halifax didn't send paperwork to third party department for two months, took five months to request witness statement (fortunately witness hadn't moved away or died of old age in the meantime).     I am quite frustrated with the amount of time it has taken to recover the excess amount. I was shunted from behind, the shunter admitted liability and Halifax car insurance staff could not get their fingers out to sort my claim.
