Poor customer service. Can only contact through expensive telephone numbers. Takes ages for money deposited to be credited. Transferring money between Current and Savings accounts not instant.

If you are after a good interest rate on your current account and low charges then I guess you can look at A&L.
If you want easy access and someone local to talk to, then look elsewhere.
If you want a company that is helpful, then look elsewhere.
If you are starting out HSBC do a cheaper account but ...

The Alliance & Leicester Business Bank Account website often does not function properly.
When you try to contact them by email you are timed out before you have time to type a short message (I am a fast typist).
Try calling on the phone and wait indefinitely.

Took Alliance & Leicester Business Bank Account almost 2months to reject my application without any reasoning why. This was before the excessive amount of time spent trying to apply for the damn thing... Glad they rejected based upon others' comments...
