Good gun, not enough firepower though... still enough to kill birds. i shot at a skunk about 4 bullets in a row, it was down, but not dead... great 4 beginers.

No the best, not the worse. Can easily kill a large bird like a robin or blue jay at 50+ yards. Everybody says they are inaccurate, but I have mine 1/2 inch high at 40yrds. So at 50, I'm dead on. I've shot rabbits, squirrels, birds, you name it, I shot it.

I picked up this air rifle quite a few years ago for about 60 bucks. It shot decently at 25 yards, but it IS NOT a suitable varmint rifle. I shot a bird at 30 paces, and it hit the wing. It ran a bit, 2nd shot, it ran some more. 3rd shot was about 20 paces, and it still lived. I would never recommen ...

I got my Beeman Silver Bear 1783 gun 4 years ago! It shoots accurately and works good. I like the stock and the scope rail seems smaller than 11mm. It's a great beginner gun! Also, there's a cool coating on the metal parts that protects it from rust.

I bought the Beeman Silver Bear 1783 air rifle yesterday. It seems to be very good. Better than my old Daisy 880 (except in power). It's a great starter gun, and extremely accurate! I don't know if it can take down birds as they haven't been visiting my yard lately. But it shoots 500+ fps, which mea ...

Have compared the Silver Bear with the Crosman Quest, Benjamin Legacy and found the Beeman Silver Bear more accurate and better qulity than the other two mentioned. The Silver Bear cost much less money than the Quest and the Legacy.

Got my Beeman Silver Bear at Wal Mart for $25 on clearance. I lucked out and got the one box that had not been returned. In talking to the sport division guy, I found out most had been returned because the scopes were knocked silly in transport.
True to form, my scope was wacky. The crosshairs ...

The Beeman Silver Bear 1783 Air Rifle is a great gun, and very accurate. All for 35 bucks! It wasn't ready to shoot right out of the box, but after some adjustment, it was extremely accurate. Cocking the gun is also very easy.
I would definitely recommend it.

This Beeman Silver Bear 1783 was my first airgun. A neighbour had loaned me a Crossman to help with my skunk/squirrel problem. This prompted me to purchase on e of my own. Even though the box states that scope is already sighted in. It needed tweaking. I found to shoot a little left & low. However i ...
